got a call from someone claiming to be from the tax office, sounded fishy so i reported it straight away.

I got a robo call with some pre recorded voice saying I'd go to jail if I didn't ring them back. It felt pretty dodgy, like one of those scary scams. Best thing is just to hang up and not worry about it.

Watch out, this is a nasty fraud. You get a recorded message saying you’ve failed to pay taxes and ignored their notices, and now there’s a warrant for your arrest. Then they tell you to enter a number to speak to someone who can help fix the matter. It’s super obvious it’s a con, but I worry some people might fall for it, especially the elderly or vulnerable. Never share any personal info. The phone code they use is from Leominster, a small town just north of Hereford.

Just like loads of others, got a recorded call about dodging tax. Very annoying.

Got another call today from someone claiming we're under investigation for dodging tax. The woman on the phone said we'd ignored all their letters and now there's a warrant out for our arrest. There’s loads of dodgy calls going about, but this one felt especially threatening. I worry that elderly folks living alone might easily get scared and end up hitting ‘1’ like they asked.
