Beware this number! They send messages that charge you £4.50 each time. I contacted three different mobile providers and they all said it’s not their issue. I think the company behind it also goes by the name tap2bill and uses the shortcode 60336, which charges the same amount per message.

This seems to be a dodgy scheme, firing off text messages that end up costing £4.50 each time, and the worst part? You can't seem to opt out of it. Quite the con, if you ask me!

I reckon Vodafone might be involved in this whole affair. This outfit previously operated under the name WIN IN LDT. They've now rebranded themselves as SOCMAN.LTD. It seems like they’re swapping names every half a year or so. They’re really taking liberties with our cash without facing any repercussions. If you're looking to reclaim your funds, I suggest ringing Phone Pay Plus at 0300 303 0020. Best of luck getting your money back!

It appears that these individuals possess some kind of control over the messaging system, as when I attempted to send a message saying STOP to a couple of the numbers, my texts failed to go through. Following that, I noticed that all the messages which had been delivered to my computer vanished without a trace, as if remotely wiped. Shortly after, I received multiple notifications from the server apologising for their inability to process my request-presumably referring to my STOP message. It seems evident to me that the unwanted messages will persist, and putting an end to them is quite the challenge. I reckon the most viable course of action would be to close my account, switch providers, and possibly change my phone number altogether.

I've got a mobile broadband set up on my Osprey Mini, which gives me an EE phone number (and let's be honest, it's all linked to "MobilePhones"). I'm seriously beginning to suspect that we've fallen victim to a hacking incident. It appears these cybercriminals might be siphoning funds through the billing system of my mobile provider. Curiously, the only messages I send from this number are to the EE Billing Department, and I haven’t shared this number with anyone else. Quite concerning, wouldn’t you say?

I’ve been absolutely fed up with these rotten swindlers nicking my dosh for ages now, and Vodafone seems to be completely indifferent to it all. I've always honoured my payments, but let me tell you, good luck trying to make the next one. Every time they assure me that I won't be hit with extra charges, it turns out to be a complete and utter farce!

I rang up the number and quite firmly, yet courteously, insisted that they promptly delete this nonsense from my phone. I also made it clear that I didn’t want any more text messages from them. Additionally, I requested that they send me a confirmation message to confirm this action.

I’ve been receiving texts from this number, and it seems I’m being billed for them. Vodafone isn’t doing a thing to sort it out, yet they’re more than happy to lecture me on proper phone usage and avoiding data downloads. Not exactly the assistance I was hoping for!

Yesterday, I found myself a victim of a fraudulent charity scheme. My bank account took a hit of £27 altogether, courtesy of Three mobile network, as they charged me £9 on three separate occasions. It's quite infuriating since I never authorised or consented to any arrangement with them.
10 years
I recently encountered a situation where I was billed by the same organisation. Upon contacting Vodafone, they informed me that it was a charity contribution I had supposedly agreed to. However, I can categorically state that I never consented to any such charity. As soon as I noticed the charge, I promptly alerted Vodafone, and to their credit, they agreed to refund my money. I even received a text confirmation regarding this. What’s troubling, though, is that Vodafone initially seemed hesitant and almost evasive to acknowledge the issue. It was only after I insisted upon evidence that they finally conceded to refund the amount. So, if you spot any suspicious charges, make sure to report them to Vodafone right away!

As a retiree myself, I’m absolutely appalled to find that I’m being charged £9.00 every Tuesday. I’ve done everything possible to halt these deductions, even sending a text to request cancellation and being informed of a fee for that service. However, my message got blocked instead! When I reached out to Vodafone, they told me they couldn’t intervene as it’s a third-party issue and they can't disclose any details about them. To me, this feels like a coordinated scheme, and Vodafone seems to be ignoring the issue entirely. At this point, I’m left with no choice but to consider cancelling my 25-year contract with them, as their lack of support and loyalty towards long-standing customers is utterly disappointing.

I've encountered a similar issue. I reached out to Vodafone and they assured me that they’d put a stop to it, yet my latest bill still shows an extra £9 added weekly. It’s absolutely infuriating! It feels like Vodafone is just brushing me off. They mentioned something about refunding me £20, but there's nothing on my call log to corroborate that... it's as if they’re not taking this seriously at all!

I've attempted to put a stop to this now on four occasions, yet I'm still being charged a pesky £9 every week. I've reached out to Vodafone, and they've issued a credit note for one of the £9 charges, but despite my requests to block this number twice, the charges just keep rolling in. It's incredibly frustrating! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, trying to text STOP or call these scammers at Socman, Switchfire or whatever name they’re going by now is pointless. The only way to get them off your back is more like hitting them with a chunk of 4x2 wood right between the eyes.

Honestly, it’s so frustrating being hit with a £4.50 fee every time. What kind of miserable existence do these crooks have, stealing cash from others? They should seriously find proper work instead of ripping people off like this. I keep getting messages and getting charged for stuff I never agreed to - it’s well beyond annoying!

Seriously, can you believe they’re ripping me off at £4.50 a pop? It's as if these lowlifes have such pitiful existences that their only thrill is swindling hard-earned cash from others. Why don’t they just find a proper job instead? I’m utterly fed up with receiving these unsolicited texts and being charged for services I never even agreed to!

I've recently found myself in a bit of a pickle with these blokes.

Vodafone has mentioned they're looking into the situation.

Frankly, it seems to me like there's some dodgy money laundering going on, and it appears that Vodafone is complicit by letting this unfold and approving the transaction.

Right then! Instead of stewing in our frustration, why not take some action? I’ve been swindled out of a fair few quid by these charlatans. The mastermind behind this dodgy operation is none other than Dace Viesture, and the firm is located at 591 London Road, North Cheam. They’ve got two different businesses registered-Socman Ltd and Mobile Paid Services Helpline. You can find their records on the Companies House website. Here’s an idea: if anyone’s keen to band together and file a lawsuit for £5000 (which only costs £185), we could potentially push them into bankruptcy. If you're interested in joining forces, drop me a line at [email protected]. Let’s not sit idle while they take advantage of innocent folks!

I really can't believe that my phone bill has gone up by £4.50 each week. At 70 and living on a pension, such a charge simply isn't fair!

It's the same firm that was fleecing me £9 per week, and I noticed they used to ring me from 02035405938. I've tried reaching out to Vodafone for a refund, but they're not helping at all. To make matters worse, I can't get hold of the company either - no response whatsoever. I've reported them to Action Fraud and highly recommend that others do the same! Let's put a stop to this nonsense!

As an 82-year-old pensioner, I found myself quite content with my £20 monthly plan, which allowed me to stay in touch with my relatives. However, I've recently been hit with a startling increase to £60 a month. Consequently, I switched to an unlimited text and call package in October. Yet, come November 19th, I was dealt another blow with an additional £18.40 charge for SMS! That’s two days’ worth of my budget for the week gone in a flash. One must wonder where the safeguards are in this situation. Could it potentially warrant a complaint to the authorities?

I stumbled across an offer for a chance to win £500 from Tesco through Facebook, which seemed a bit dubious to me. Naturally, I reached out to Virgin Mobile for assistance, but to my dismay, they were rather unhelpful and ended the conversation abruptly. After that, I switched to a pay-as-you-go plan, yet I continue to receive an endless stream of texts that apparently have some connection to Virgin. I’m not entirely sure what’s going on, but I did manage to stop the pesky texts today by replying with a 'stop' message to the number they provided.

I’ve been battling with this £4.50 charge that pops up every Friday like clockwork. I’ve attempted to get in touch with this number, but it’s all automated responses - no opportunity to actually speak to a human being. Has anyone managed to get a refund through an appeal? I’m really annoyed because they’ve been taking £9 every week for three months (my pay day sort of masked it, so I didn’t notice how much it added up to). I just rang 01567 380029 and they said they’ll look into it and reply within 5 working days. I’m proper steamed about it, but I’m not holding my breath on actually getting any cash back!

I’m feeling rather anxious as I've been receiving messages from a company called Top Prizes, which I've never heard of and certainly never consented to join. They've claimed that I'm "subscribed" to a fee of £4.50 each week, but I have no interest in such a programme whatsoever. I'm baffled as to how they obtained my phone number. They’ve suggested I text 61991 to unsubscribe or ring the aforementioned number, but I have no intention of doing that given it’s a premium rate line, and others who have tried seem to have been left with charges anyway. Can anyone explain how they might be able to charge me via my mobile, as I only have a £5 goody bag with giffgaff? It’s quite distressing, and I need some reassurance that they can’t pile up any hidden fees on me...they sound completely dodgy!

I've been encountering the same issue with my TalkTalk bill-an extra £4.50 has been added to my account every month for the past four months. If anyone has any suggestions on how to put an end to this scam, I would greatly appreciate it!

I've been receiving texts informing me that £4.50 has been deducted from my account. They suggested I call a number to stop it, but of course, there's been no reply. The number appears to be premium-rate, and I'm getting nothing back on that front either. I reached out to Tesco to block any pricey numbers from calling me, but unfortunately, the pesky messages keep rolling in, claiming I've won some sort of prize. It's become a never-ending cycle of delete, delete, delete!

A month ago, I found myself unwittingly enrolled in their so-called Hot Prizes competition, resulting in an unwelcome £22.50 charge on my BT Mobile bill. Upon discovering this, I wasted no time in blocking their number and the reference tied to my account. I also followed their instructions to text 'STOP' to 85011. Shortly after, I received confirmation that I would no longer participate in their dubious competition. I've been keeping a close eye on my BT Mobile account, and thankfully, there haven't been any further charges from this scam. Wishing you all the best!

I can't quite fathom how I found myself on this winning number escapade! Have forked out a fiver for absolutely zilch, and to be honest, I wasn’t interested in the first place. I'm now pondering whether I inadvertently clicked on something or perhaps glossed over some tiny print that I should have paid heed to. Nonetheless, this serves as a cautionary tale for the unsuspecting; must be vigilant even when using our mobile phones, as those elusive details can easily slip past. Right, everyone! It’s high time you took control and get that direct debit cancelled with your mobile provider, whether it’s O2, EE, or whoever else! They’re simply siphoning your hard-earned cash. It’s as simple as clicking a button to cancel! But do your homework first-make sure that the new provider won’t pull the same stunt. Since June, my monthly bill has mysteriously inflated by around £30 to £40, and I definitely haven't subscribed to anything. I managed to track down the number linked to this issue by dialling another one listed on my statement, one that I didn’t recognise at all. When I contacted the number in question, I was informed that they represented a customer service organisation affiliated with various internet providers. To my utter disbelief, they claimed I had unwittingly signed up for a subscription to an adult website-something I wouldn't dream of doing! The customer service representative seemed to recognise my confusion and assured me that this was indeed a scam. She promised to reach out to the website in question to advocate for a refund on my behalf. Thankfully, Vodafone has now blocked that number, so I’m just left waiting to see if that indeed halts any further charges.

I was taken aback by my latest BT bill - it had soared to an extraordinary amount! A thorough look revealed that I had been charged for premium-rate numbers every single Monday for the past two months. Having perused the remarks above, I felt compelled to share my own experience as a 74-year-old retiree living on a modest pension. Between the 25th of July and the 16th of August, an entity known as Socman managed to extract £19.25 from my EE account without my consent. I find this absolutely shocking and it's left me quite anxious about the ease with which companies can operate in such a manner, almost under the radar. Thankfully, EE has placed a block on these transactions, but now I'm faced with the tedious task of reclaiming my funds. It’s a source of great frustration. I did manage to have a conversation with someone at Socman, who assured me they would look into it, but I'm not particularly optimistic about the outcome. On the 17th of August, I noticed a deduction of £3.50 from my account for a service I knew nothing about.
