9 yearsJust like every other time! The bloke claimed my internet would go down constantly if I didn’t act immediately. I told him straight up he was a con artist and he ought to be ashamed!9 yearswatch out for this scam! they’ll claim your bt broadband contract is about to expire and say they need to carry out maintenance on your computer. then they’ll get you to switch on your PC and enter a code they give you. once they’ve got access, they can control your computer and try to steal your bank info. the worst part is, they’re overseas so there’s nothing you can do right away. ignore all they say - it’s a total scam. just put the phone down straight away.BT9 yearsGot a call from a bloke with an Indian accent, claimed he worked for the BT tech team at some place called 81 Newgate District in London. He kept going on about my computer’s IP being hacked or something, offering to sort it out. I played along for about 12 minutes while I quietly checked online and, as expected, it turned out to be just another scam. Waste of time but at least I was prepared.BTNewgateLondon9 yearsSome bloke phoned me pretending to be from BT, warning me that my internet would be cut off in five days. Didn’t really give much detail after that, so I just replied, “Oh yeah? What’s that about then?” Weirdly, he went on asking if I’d “got married”? I decided to look up the number myself and rang it back. A cheery woman’s voicemail came on saying it was Tamico Inbound Services. But the number I dialled was out of service and then I was asked if I fancied renting it for my business. They even gave me a website link but of course, it didn’t even load. Proper sketchy!BT9 yearsI picked up but no one spoke, just some annoying silent spam.9 yearsGot a call from this number earlier, but as soon as I picked up it just stopped ringing. I tried calling back and got a recorded message from 'teamco', saying the number isn’t in use. They mentioned something about ordering the number for business use, and to email them at [email protected]. Seems dodgy, feels like a spam call to me.Teamco9 yearsGot a call from someone claiming they were with my internet provider, then they just hung up on me.9 yearsToday I got a call from someone saying they were BT and that my internet would be cut off. I just whistled really loudly into the phone and then ended the call. They tried ringing me 9 more times after that!BTSubmit Your Own Report (01567 359643)
