I received a call from someone who insisted I verify my identity, yet refused to disclose who he was. He came across as rather rude and overly aggressive, relentlessly probing for personal details.

Some bloke rang me, but hung up the moment I picked up. Definitely dodgy!

I picked up the phone and a bloke with a foreign accent asked if he was speaking to Mary or Mrs Mary. I said yeah, that’s me. He then rattled off my address and said the broadband price was going to rise soon, but he could sort me out with a cheaper deal. I told him I was stuck in an 18-month contract, so he asked when I started it and said he’d ring back later. Sounds dodgy to me, so I’m just going to block the number.

I picked up a call this morning from this number but they just ended it straight away. Also noticed there were two missed calls from them yesterday. Going to block it now.

I asked where they’d found my number, but he just wouldn’t say and carried on reading from his script. He mentioned something about being an “insulation advisor” and contacting homeowners about insulation. I’m ex-directory and also on the TPS list. I rang the number back, and their answerphone said “Executive Homes” or something similar, but I didn’t leave a message. The last time they called, I pressed 9 to be taken off their list, but clearly that didn’t do anything.
