Some bloke named "Peter" rang me claiming to be from British Telecom's "tech team" - which seemed a bit dodgy to start with. He told me there was a security issue with my broadband because suddenly my data usage had shot up, apparently from some hack attempt. When I asked for his full name and a number to call back later, just to be sure, he suddenly ended the call. Seemed like a total scam to me.

Just after 2 o'clock this afternoon, I received a rather peculiar phone call. A gentleman, who had a noticeable Nigerian accent, claimed to be phoning on behalf of BT. He insisted that there was someone trying to breach my internet connection and was on the verge of wiping my server clean. Quite alarmed, I asked him for the number he was calling from, and he provided me with the one: 02065195710. Upon terminating the call, I quickly used the 1471 service and found out the originating number was actually 01565722019.

I keep receiving calls a couple of times each week from someone claiming my internet is connecting with overseas locations. It's becoming rather annoying, so I just hang up!
