I recently received a letter featuring a phone number linked to a firm that has no connection to my address and was demanding over £700 for a gas bill that we supposedly owe. After picking up the phone to inform them that we moved into this property just a year and a half ago, and that the company they mentioned hasn't been based here for some time, they assured me that would be the last I heard from them about it. However, out of the blue, they called me again today looking to chat about the same company. They had the audacity to keep my PRIVATE phone number from that earlier call, and the representative outright fabricated a claim that my number was tied to the company’s account. I firmly told her she was being dishonest and warned that if she didn’t promptly remove my number from their records, I wouldn’t hesitate to pursue legal action. It’s utterly ridiculous!
