Rogue traders!

I've received a couple of calls from this number and, upon doing some digging, I realise we've just switched away from Scottish Power. This could very well be a dodgy call. I’ve decided against picking it up.

Received a voicemail featuring a voice that didn't sound like they were from Kilmarnock, having what seemed like a chat over the kind of call they were attempting to make. After a brief moment of hesitation, they said "two seconds" and then just cut off. If this was a legitimate business, it's clear their team could do with some extra training. I won’t be picking up from this number again.

I received a rather peculiar phone call today. The lady on the other end inquired if I had applied for a loan that required repayment to the government. She mentioned that she couldn't assist with switching my gas or electricity supply due to my prepayment smart meters. Interestingly enough, she had a Scottish accent and seemed to lose patience quite quickly. As soon as we hit a snag regarding the energy efficiency loan, she abruptly hung up on me. Quite the experience, I must say!

Absolutely spot on – this reeks of a scam, pretending to represent Scottish Power. Having switched to Octopus myself, I'm now inundated with calls like these. It's a doddle to block the numbers, but it's quite troubling that Scottish Power appears to have leaked some of my personal information. What more can you anticipate from a company that's been rated a dismal '15 out of 16' for customer service by Which? Plus, it's concerning knowing they're fully owned by a foreign energy giant, Iberdrola.

Rang me a couple of times last Friday but didn’t bother to drop a message. I've also had calls from a different number that appears to be from South Shields before. It’s high time OfCom took a firm stance against these caller ID scams. These firms should really be restricted from using various local numbers. Pleased I’ve moved on from that lot!

Received a call purporting to be from Scottish Power. I’ve recently made the switch to Octopus and the caller insisted they needed to inform me about what to anticipate moving forward. To be honest, the changes have already taken place! What baffled me was their insistence on me providing personal details to confirm my identity, yet they wouldn’t offer any verification of their own. I find this approach highly unprofessional — regardless of whether the call was legitimate or not. Just a word of advice: never engage with unknown callers unless they can prove who they are upfront.

I’ve been absolutely fed up with Scottish Power lately! I recently made the switch to another provider, yet despite my clear refusal during our last conversation to return, they persist in bombarding me with calls every single day. It’s becoming rather tiresome, to say the least!

I decided to pass on answering that call; it's likely from Scottish Power, considering I’ve just had dealings with them.

I decided not to pick up when my mobile rang, but I later returned the call using my office landline. It turns out it was Scottish Power reaching out to me. Since I've made the switch from them not long ago, I can only assume they're keen to lure me back into their fold!

Called but didn't leave a message, it was flagged up as a scam on my phone.

This morning, an unfamiliar number rang my partner's phone, but he chose not to pick up since it wasn't a number he recognised. Given how many times this number has been searched, I suspect it might be a pesky nuisance or even a scammer trying their luck.

I missed the call from this number since it wasn't familiar to me. They didn't bother to leave a voicemail either, which leaves me thinking it's just another telemarketer. I've now blocked the number to avoid further hassle.
