A couple of comments down show ways to tackle these scams and why just blocking calls isn’t always effective. It takes a bit of time to report, but no longer than searching for info and sharing it here. We won’t see instant results because the police don’t yet grasp how widespread this fraud is, so they can’t put the right resources into chasing these scammers. Your MP’s reply might be “interesting” (if you’re lucky), but unless all of us who get these annoying calls and messages stand up, complain to our MPs, and report every single scam, this problem isn’t going anywhere.
