What’s really scary is how they manage to spoof numbers so it looks like they’re ringing from your own area code, making you pick up ‘just in case’. These heartless crooks are only after a fast payday while folks are struggling to stay afloat!

Someone called me saying they were from Sky Assured Ltd about renewing my insurance for my TV gear. It’s actually the second year of the contract, and they said I had to pay £99 today or my TV stuff wouldn’t be covered anymore, plus I’d get charged an early cancellation fee. Odd thing is, the call came from what looked like a very local number - right from my own town! It’s quite worrying. Has anyone else had this? Can someone do something about these scammers?
