Got a call from some bloke who knew my name, claiming to be from Genesis Life about life insurance. Thing is, I've never taken anything with them. I nicely said I wasn’t interested and asked him to take me off their calling list. He didn’t like that one bit and sounded proper annoyed, so I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away!

This number has been ringing me non stop all week so finally I picked up today. The bloke on the line said he knew who I was and wanted to chat about my Aviva Life Insurance. I told him I don’t have any life insurance at all and he just cut me off straight away. Definitely a scam - watch out! He did sound quite polite and legit though.

I've been getting calls from this number loads of times every single day, always about life insurance. When I told them to stop, they actually told me not to have an attitude. I ended up blocking it, but they just started ringing me from different numbers instead. It's really annoying.

I got a call from this number but didn’t bother picking up since I don’t have it saved. I changed my voicemail to say something like, “Sorry, I’m not available right now. I only answer known numbers, but leave a message and I’ll call back as soon as I can.” If nobody leaves a message, I block it straight away because it’s probably just a scam. Also, I don’t swipe to reject calls - I let them drop off themselves since that shows the line is dead, which stops them from passing my number on.

This number has rung me several times, and when I rang back to check, they said they were from Gemini with two people, Simon and Fiona, chatting about funeral insurance. The lady who answered my home phone sounded like the same person, but she kept giving different names instead of Fiona and then said she'd pass me on to Fiona. Simon picked up a few times too, and when I told them to stop bothering me as I was waiting for an important call, Simon got quite cheeky and told me not to keep calling him. Honestly, it was so annoying! 😡😡😡😡😡

Got a call from a Welsh number today, and a lady with a British accent picked up, claiming to be from First Life Insurance - which is totally different from the insurer I use. I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from a number in Llandeilo, Wales. The woman on the line claimed to be working for Royal London about my life insurance. I told her I'd get in touch with them personally if I wanted to chat about my policy. I've blocked the number since.

These folks are top notch, they gave me a ring saying my bank account was infected with a virus, never thought that was even a thing. They told me the virus was slowly eating away at my savings, stealing 1p every hour. Did a bit of quick sums - that’s 24p a day, about £1.68 each week, which is a crazy £87.60 over a year! So I told the guy on the phone, “Nah mate, let’s sort this out quick.” He asked me for my account info and PIN so he could send some antivirus magic to clear it up. Gotta give them props because they said the £10k the virus swiped during a sudden mutation would hopefully grow back soon. If not, they promised to send me a box of Kellogg’s corn flakes free of charge. Love it!

I've had loads of calls from these numbers lately. Best not to pick up or ring them back! It's a trick so they can charge you a fortune when you return the call, just to leave you hanging with no one picking up. Avoid it at all costs.

Blocking these idiots is pointless, they always ring back from some random spoofed number, could be a mobile or landline from anywhere in the UK. The best thing you can do is report the scam. Just search for 'action fraud' and head to the official UK police website. On the phishing report page, scroll right down to the bottom to fill in a quick report. That’s the way to help get them stopped.

There’s this annoying call where they play music first, then a person with a weird accent tells you to wait because your call matters. But the longer you stay on, the more cash they’re ripping off you! Best thing to do is just ignore the call and put the number on your block list.
