My home phone rang and it was one of those automated messages claiming to be from RBS, saying I had two big payments waiting. They asked me to press numbers to connect me to the right team. I didn’t press anything though and decided to check my online bank account instead. Turns out, it was a scam, and they were using my area’s phone code, which made me pick up thinking it might be someone I knew.
