I looked into their site and checked out the Call Blocker they offer, and honestly, I don’t get the fuss. They only ring you if you’ve specifically opted in, and the blocker they provide stops pretty much every kind of call - including blocked numbers. You can even block certain area codes if you want. Sounds like a solid deal to me.

I called both the Nuisance Call Registry on 01554751443 and the Call Blocking Registry on 01554778439, and both gave me different numbers to ring back. For the CBR, I was told to call 084352892072 where a woman named Emma explained they were a private firm claiming to have "bought back your number" from some international database - but all for £42.62. She said I'd get sent a gadget with a "push button call blocker" to fit onto my landline. Apparently, I’d have to block each call myself, which sounds pointless if the calls are anonymous and BT’s 1471 just shows ‘no number’. BT themselves offered a call blocking service for £4.75 a month, but after just under a week, those silent anonymous calls started up again - so their offer seemed like a scam. Honestly, it feels like nowadays with technology, anyone can hassle you relentlessly without much you can do!

They'll only ring you if you've gone on their site and asked for help with blocking annoying calls or the device they sell. So if you didn't want a call, why hand over your info in the first place? Also, if you’re not interested anymore, just pick up and say you don’t want their services now. It’s simple - either you’re after their help or you’re not. If you’re not, then why bother asking at all?

I’m getting calls on both my landline and mobile, and it’s proper annoying now. I’ve given up being nice to them. TPS and call blockers don’t seem to do a thing, so I just cut them off as soon as they ring. Such pests!

I signed up for a free call blocking service, yet this number still called me. The caller claimed to already have all my info and said I’d have to pay £43 once off to put an end to the calls. Got a call from this lot not long ago.
They sounded pretty convincing.
They claimed I’d reached out to them first.
Thing is, I never did, so I checked with the other person who handles my phone stuff and told them we weren’t keen. Then the woman insisted I’d already accepted their terms and owed a single payment of £35.50. I argued that it wasn’t me and then just ended the call.
BUT HOW ON EARTH DID THEY KNOW I WAS EVEN THINKING ABOUT THIS???

I've signed up with the TPS ages ago, and even just recently put my number on a free Call Blocking Service. But today, I got dialled three times before lunchtime from the same number! Honestly, all this registration stuff doesn't seem to stop these calls one bit. I'm seriously thinking of getting one of those gadgets you connect to your landline cos the amount of telemarketers ringing from both here and abroad is driving me mad. It's non stop!

I got a call from someone saying they were from a Nuisance Calls Register, asking me to make a one-time payment on my credit card. They were really pushy and kept saying I agreed to their terms and conditions, which I never did. I'd only just signed up for a Call Blocking Service recently. I told them I wasn’t going to pay.
