I suspect there's some dodgy business afoot! I received a 1571 voicemail prompting me to ring 08432890963, yet the number that actually called me for that message was 01554751443. Both these numbers seem to be pushing some sort of payment for call blocking services, in one form or another, and I reckon they're linked somehow. When I called back, I got through to a woman named 'Josie.’ She had a rather noticeable Welsh accent and seemed to be answering for both numbers!

Received a couple of calls this afternoon, with messages urging me to 'ring Josie at 08432890963'.

I had a conversation with her not long ago and forked out £42 to end all those pesky calls, so being informed today that I'd need to shell out even more to "retrieve my number from some Indian firm" (the name seems to change frequently, doesn't it?) certainly didn’t sit well with me!

Nevertheless, Josie did recommend I take a peek at the preference settings on any sites where I do my shopping.

On the bright side, since I made that £42 payment, those annoying calls from UK numbers have vanished, so it’s not all doom and gloom...

Is it just me, or is anyone else inundated with those bothersome calls? I'm beginning to wonder if I've become a target for unwanted phone chatter!

I've been inundated with calls from some lot claiming that my landline's been compromised by an Indian outfit. They keep insisting that if I disregard their warnings, I could end up with a massive bill running into the thousands in no time. I've had enough, honestly-I keep hanging up on them, and it seems they've finally given up leaving those irritating messages on my answering machine.
