I received a rather dubious call from a customer service centre, though they never bothered to identify themselves. The caller informed me that my washing machine's warranty had expired and insisted on sending over some paperwork to extend it. She was exceptionally persistent! When I inquired about the cost, her response was somewhat vague, stating it would simply be a "small charge". I promptly told her it wouldn’t be a problem, as I'd just opt to buy a new machine when the current one fails. Oh, and here’s a curious detail-the phone rings, and when you answer, you can hear the dialing noise before they're finally connected! I can’t shake the feeling that I might have been charged for that call!

I've had a right run-in with the Hotpoint washing machine sales and their dubious warranty offer. It all feels a bit like a con, to be honest. You think you're getting a decent deal, but it quickly turns into a hassle. Definitely won't be recommending them to anyone!
