I received a call from a scammer, and when I told them to go away, they bizarrely rang me back multiple times, all the while cackling as if it were some sort of joke, despite the fact I'd already blocked their number!

It seems we receive a call from a different number nearly every week, and they’re perpetually inquiring about someone named Ian. The moment we hear that name, we swiftly end the conversation.

I picked up the phone, but there was utter silence on the other end. The reason I answered was my sons are working in Wales, and I felt a wave of anxiety wash over me.

I picked up the phone and greeted them with a simple "hello" three times, but it was met with utter silence. Frustrated, I decided to end the call and promptly blocked the number. I recommend others take similar action. However, do keep your guard up, as despite having blocked that number, I received another call that played out the same way.

This number rings me repeatedly, yet hangs up the moment I pick up. I'm starting to think they’re just trying to lure folks into ringing them back, possibly to charge extortionate fees. I've since blocked it!
