i got a call from a lady wanting to chat with Mrs N (i’ve been married again for 24 years now). she reckoned our windows were over a decade old and would soon need swapping out. i told her they’d probably go another 30 years easy. then she started going on about some government scheme paying for replacements, so i said to send me the details through the post. but she just cut me off suddenly. didn’t give her my actual name either.
