Some bloke said he was John from EE, but there’s no way that was true - his accent was really thick and obviously not British. My phone actually alerted me that the call might be dodgy, so I told him I suspected it was a scam because of the warning. After that, he just dropped the call.

Received a call today from someone who said they were representing my supposed supplier, EON. They were probing for my personal information and seemed awfully interested in our contract details. The funny thing is, I don’t even use EON! It definitely felt like a dodgy attempt to con me.

I got a call from a bloke who said he was from British Gas, but honestly he didn’t sound right at all and messed up his words loads. When I asked if the call was legit, he handed me over to some woman who just seemed lost and unsure what was going on. Right after hanging up, I looked up the number and turns out it wasn’t even British Gas at all. Felt a bit dodgy!

Got a call from a lady with a really thick accent, something about insurance I think. I couldn’t catch most of what she was saying, so I just told her, quite firmly yet politely, to leave me alone. No clue who she was.

Got a call from someone saying they were lawyers. Typical scam trying to get me worried about a fake car crash. They spoke with a thick Asian accent. As soon as I asked where they were calling from, they just ended the call.

I picked up and there was total silence on the other end.

I got a strange text from a number earlier, asking if I wanted help selling my house because my sale supposedly didn’t complete - funny thing is, I’m a tenant and don’t even own a place! Then I had a call from this same number later on. I looked up both numbers online and they kept popping up connected to the same company. They didn’t bother leaving a voicemail, so I just ended up deleting the message.

Got a call from a guy with an accent saying he was from E-on, claiming to be my energy supplier. Thing is, I’m not even with E-on! When I kept telling him this and refused to share any info, he started getting really rude. Proper cheeky of him.
