I received a rather curt call from someone claiming to represent Secure Call Services. He insisted that I needed to fork out a one-time charge of £76 to halt those pesky nuisance calls. I mentioned that I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service, but he brushed that off and insisted the calls would keep coming unless I handed over the money. Quite unsettling, really!
