I received a call from some energy company wanting to know if I was the owner of my home or something along those lines. Honestly, I couldn't be bothered to engage any further, so I simply hung up. I really cannot stand these unsolicited calls, and now it’s clear to me that it was likely a con.

I simply refuse to pick up the phone if the caller shows as ‘unknown’. That’s my way of recognising a potential scam, particularly after looking it up on a site that tracks these sorts of calls, along with a plethora of similar remarks.
