If that were true, I would've told them to remove me from their list immediately. I’m reporting them to the ICO at ico.org.uk for breaking the rules (FYI, being on TPS isn’t an excuse).

Loads of scary talk. The name they gave was the same as the MD of Smart Home Protection near Cannock. A quick look on Companies House shows these folks are probably best avoided. (Saw the comments on this site dated 25 May after that!)

Got a call from a lady claiming crime rates in my B46 area were going up and the police were understaffed - sounded like a total scare tactic to me! I told her it was pretty low to try and frighten me into buying a home security system. I'm on the TPS list but it seems like it doesn’t stop these kinds of calls at all. Makes me wonder what the police actually think about people using their name for this sort of pushy sales pitch?

I thought I saw something recently about the Government putting in place new rules to hold CEOs personally liable for ongoing nuisance calls, with hefty fines? Might just be another one of those Government “big announcements” without any real action? Either way, with how many annoying calls come from this number, you'd think this company deserves some proper investigation and legal action!

Just got a call from smart home protection pushing their £199 system. The guy on the phone, Matthew Black, is linked to 3 companies still running, but he’s also been a director for 4 companies that got dissolved and quit from another one. Having that many directorships popping up and disappearing makes me suspicious. Especially since those 4 companies that got closed down only lasted about 1 to 3 years and barely filed any returns or accounts. Feels dodgy to me.
