I picked up the phone to find a woman on the other end, addressing me by my name, Mrs B*****. Oddly enough, she kept calling me 'Sir' throughout our conversation. Apparently, she represented a local business that was offering home visits for those looking to create or update their Wills. I quickly corrected her, pointing out that I am indeed female, and requested that she refrain from calling me again before pressing the disconnect button. As a member of the Telephone Preference Service, I'm quite put out by receiving such unsolicited calls. There's no way they could have sourced my number from the directory, as I’m not listed at all...
