Blimey! It’s a wonder how these absolute plonkers manage to get any shut-eye at night! It’s hard to fathom the cheek of it all. Switching our number hasn’t made a jot of difference, it seems. TPS is as useful as a chocolate teapot! If we ever find the time, we might just take legal action against them.

I received a call from this number on 28th March, which was promptly intercepted by my trueCall Call Blocker. Remarkably, it only took 9 seconds to process, and I was blissfully unaware of the call (my phone didn’t even ring) until I glanced at the call log entry below. I’ve since added this number to my 'z zap' list to ensure that I won’t be bothered by it again in the future. For further context, I’m also registered with the Telephone Preference Service. Here’s the log that trueCall generated: 28/03/13 13:12 00:09 Unidentified caller / Whisper / Disconnected during screening I should mention, I have no affiliations with trueCall apart from being a happy customer!

I received a rather concerning phone call today from someone claiming I had an outstanding debt and suggesting they could help me set up a debt management plan. As a pensioner, I'm quite certain I don’t owe anything at all! It makes me wonder how on earth they obtained my number, especially since I’m registered with the Telephone Preference Service. It’s a bit disturbing, to be honest.

I've been receiving calls from this number as well, even though I've registered my BT line to block unwanted calls. It seems like they've got something shady happening that they'd rather keep under wraps. Cheers, OAP.

Received a phone call for the very first time around half past twelve today. The caller didn’t leave a message and the phone rang for just a brief moment, so I’m none the wiser about who it might be. However, I am aware that debt collectors often utilise various numbers when they acquire lists of debtors from businesses. I’ve been relentlessly pursued over a T-Mobile debt of £141, which I settled in its entirety nearly five years back. It’s quite clear that they fail to verify the information provided by the concerned company.

I recently received a call from this number, but alas, there was no one on the other end. Quite the bother, I must say! These types of callers need to be dealt with and brought to justice.

Cheers for the tips on how to deal with those pesky nuisances! Personally, I’ve opted to let the answering machine do the heavy lifting, only picking up for those I actually want to chat with. I totally empathise with how unsettling these calls can be for the elderly or those who are less assertive. As for me, there’s nothing quite like sending cold callers on a wild goose chase when the mood strikes. After all, they're the ones interrupting my peace, so I've got no qualms about it! Why not have a laugh by telling them your name’s something like Amy Triptyline or might as well be Stella Zine? You could even spin a tale about being a Flatus Tube Operator for Harry Cotbean Wind Turbines! It not only wastes their precious time but also gives you a good chuckle at their expense. Remember, don’t let them get on your nerves-just turn the tables and have some fun!

I received a robocall touting a way to tackle debts exceeding £10,000. They offered to send an information pack if I pressed a certain number, or I could hit 9 to have my details wiped from their list. Fingers crossed that hitting 9 actually halts their incessant calls and doesn’t lead to any unexpected charges! It’s a right bother, especially since I’m ex-directory and have never opted into any of their cheeky services.

I'm utterly tired of these incessant phone calls! My mother, who is disabled, has quite a bit of difficulty with her hearing and finds it challenging to pick up the phone when these bothersome calls come through. It's high time we put an end to such irritating calls - they really ought to be banned!
13 years
Today at a quarter past midday, my phone rang, and upon picking up, I was greeted by a robotic voice informing me that I had signed up to receive such calls. I pressed 9 in a futile attempt to halt any future interruptions, but given my past encounters, I know this is often in vain! When I attempted to ring the number back, it turned out to be an invalid one. What on earth can we do to put an end to these persistent nuisances? Clearly, these firms are disregarding the Telephone Preference Service!

I've noticed several folks grumbling about this number, but I wonder, are they actually lodging complaints with the ICO? You should head over to http://www.ico.gov.uk/complaints/marketing - it really only takes a couple of minutes. In the end, these miscreants could find themselves facing serious legal repercussions, with hefty fines upwards of tens of thousands of pounds, much like that kitchen firm did just recently. Yet, if all we do is moan and fail to report the matter correctly, nothing is likely to change.

Should you find yourself greeted by a pre-recorded message upon answering a call, it is advisable to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) via their website (http://www.ico.gov.uk/complaints/marketing/). The ICO takes action based on the volume of complaints they receive. In the event that you’re conversing with an actual person and you're on the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) register, don't hesitate to report this interaction to the TPS (https://complaints.tpsonline.org.uk/Consumer/). They coordinate with the ICO to address such issues. For those annoying silent calls, make sure to inform Ofcom about it (https://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/tell-us/webflow/silent-calls/). I completely understand that it can be rather frustrating to have to report different types of calls to various bodies, but unfortunately, that's the current process in place. Cheers, Bob.

I’ve been receiving calls from this number incessantly, and it’s becoming quite bothersome. It feels like I’m under siege by these persistent callers! Despite my repeated requests for them to cease contacting me and to take my number off their list-which I suspect they acquired through some dodgy means-they just won’t let up. My husband and I are contemplating ditching our landline altogether, which would be a hassle, but honestly, it’s infuriating to keep having to tell these telemarketers to leave me be!

I've been receiving some rather shoddy calls from this lot. I've tried to get myself taken off their list, but it hasn't worked at all. Whenever I pose any queries, they simply cut the line. They never bother to identify themselves either. By the way, I'm registered with the telephone preference service.

I received one of those typical nuisance calls today, but this time it was about me supposedly being on their records for an accident, entitling me to a compensation claim (claims allegedly average around £3740). Naturally, I decided to return the call to uncover the identity of the scammer. When I got through, I asked the chap for his name, and he replied with "Rajah." I insisted on getting not just his name, but also that of his supervisor, along with the name and address of his business, asserting that I suspected he was engaging in illegal activity. There was a noticeable pause on his end, and he stammered, asking why I thought that. I reiterated my concerns, and just like that, the line went completely silent. I've since reported this to the Telephone Preference Service and highly advise that anyone faced with such callers use similar phrases; it may just do the trick in getting your number removed from their list!

On the 21st of March, 2013, just after midday, my phone started ringing incessantly until I eventually managed to pick it up. Using 1471 to trace the caller, I subsequently did a quick Google search and stumbled upon this site. I've found that with these pesky telemarketers, it can be quite effective to turn the tables on them by firing off questions like, "Am I acquainted with you?" or "Where did you obtain my number?" I typically don’t give them a moment to respond before delivering firm statements such as, "Please refrain from contacting me in the future," or "I insist you tell me how you obtained my number," and, "I will be reporting this as an unwanted call." You'd be surprised at how often they hang up on me first!

I’m receiving around three or four phone calls each day, and depending on my frame of mind, I might occasionally pick one up just for a laugh. The most entertaining ones are the so-called ‘helpful’ calls about making claims after an alleged accident! I’ve taken to feigning memory loss due to the incident, and I bombard them with questions, insisting they repeat everything over and over. It’s absolutely hilarious to see how quickly they lose patience and hang up! Honestly, I find that rather discourteous; it’s not my fault I’ve misplaced my memory, is it?

I received a call from this number today, claiming that I had signed up for something. After pressing 5, I was connected to an operator, and I gave them a right earful until they decided to hang up on me! I'd really like to find out which company it was so I can give them a piece of my mind.

I received an unsolicited call on my private landline regarding a pest debt reduction or write-off. My number has been ex-directory for a decade, and I've been registered with the TPS for just as long. The caller was a male voice with a British accent, and there was a faint static in the background. Once he had given his spiel, he instructed me to press one digit if I wanted to engage or another if I preferred not to receive any "updates". What a complete bother! I have limited mobility and simply do not appreciate these intrusive calls at any time, day or night. I've lodged a complaint on the ICO website about this situation.

Echoing what others have mentioned, I received a rather posh-sounding automated message indicating that this number had 'opted-in' to a pretty dodgy deal about getting up to 70% of debts waived-quite the tempting offer, I must say! They requested that I press 5 to chat to a representative. When I did, a chap named "Ian" answered with a thick Welsh lilt. I didn't mince words and informed him that we certainly hadn't opted in for anything, and that our number has been on the TPS list for years. I asked him to kindly remove my number from their database. He claimed he didn’t have my details, asserted that he hadn’t called me directly, and then promptly disconnected the call. What an underhanded way to make a living, honestly... I found that the number is also unrecognised and invalid upon attempting to ring it back.

We’ve managed to keep our number under wraps, yet here we are on the receiving end of a pair of silent calls. A quick rummage online reveals that this number is registered to some place in Keith, up in the northeast of Scotland-perhaps it’s perpetually gloomy there, and the locals can’t find a wink of sleep? I work from home and truly find it vexing to be bothered by time-wasting calls. Thankfully, it’s my wife who has dealt with the first two interruptions.
