I got a call from this lady who contacts website owners, claiming she's got a bunch of domains that supposedly resemble their existing site names and tries to pitch them as some kind of exclusive offer. When I asked her to send the domain list over email, she said she has to offer them to other local companies first before she can share the info. Sounds like a load of nonsense to me. Wouldn't trust her at all!

Got a call from someone pitching domains and web hosting services. Not really interested, just those typical sales calls.

Got a call out of the blue from someone claiming to be from a web company. They started by asking me to verify my name and then went on about how my website wasn’t getting enough visitors. Apparently, folks in London had been searching for me and they offered to boost my traffic. I didn’t trust it from the start, so I told them no thanks and ended the call. Felt a bit dodgy if you ask me.

This number has rung me multiple times and the bloke on the other end was really pushy and quite rude. When I told him about our website and the launch dates, he wouldn’t say who he was or the reason for his call. Instead, he just kept demanding to know who manages our domain - which felt pretty threatening. Since then, this number has tried calling us a few more times but never left a message. We’ve ended up blocking it now. Honestly, it’s been pretty unsettling.

Had a call from a woman but the connection was awful so I couldn’t quite catch everything. From what I could make out, she mentioned something about my internet or broadband contract ending sometime next July?

Got a call from someone claiming a well-known hotel company went under and they were trying to sell their website domains, saying it could help us avoid using booking.com. Ended up just hanging up.

So I found out my domain was about to be sold by this Nominet Scottish agent, and they totally forgot to transfer my domain to me. They said they’d handle it, but it’d cost a fee. I told the lass, in my strongest Scottish accent, to stick it where the sun don't shine.

Got a call from someone trying to offload a domain name that was barely connected to our real site, and they wanted £310 for it - honestly, it was ridiculous. They said the reason for ringing was that the previous owner had retired, making the domain free. I told them they had completely mixed up our business category and the domains they were selling had nothing to do with what we do. Then, just 10 minutes later, they rang again with more domain options. A quick look online showed I could buy similar well-known domains myself for about £4.

I got a call from some bloke trying to flog me a domain name I already have. He reckoned it was up for grabs again, but obviously it's not. Total spam, really.

This bloke named Kendal went on about some domain name stuff, but had no idea what my own domain was at all. Ended up blocking him.

Got a message from my missus saying I was getting a call 'cause someone’s trying to hijack my website. Thing is, the folks who actually run it haven’t said a word. Also, I just said "Hiya" and it flagged as fraud or something. Watch out, everyone!

Apparently some domains which had been doing really well are now up for grabs because the owner decided to quit. Seems like a chance to snap up some solid websites that were already popular!
