Got another call like this just the other day - a woman talking about some issue with my computer. Not much chance of fooling me though, I told her straight up before hanging up that I’ve been working with computers way longer than she’s been around (basically since 1957!).

I got a call from someone claiming to be BT saying there was a fault with my internet. They said they could fix the problem on my PC remotely. Sounded a bit iffy to me, so I didn’t let them do anything. Wish more people knew about these calls, they can be quite sneaky!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft support, saying my PC wasn’t updating properly. They asked me to open it and press CTRL, the Windows key, and R together. Instead, I messed around and pressed the calculator app three times. When I said nothing happened, he accused me of joking and just ended the call. Ha! Take that!

I think it was one of those robot spam calls with no one actually talking, so I just ended the call straight away.

On my caller ID it showed up as INTERNATIONAL. When it rang through to my answering machine they just dropped the call. I checked the number by dialling 1471 and it got logged, looks like the same group that called me yesterday pretending to be from BT Tech support. I don’t get why these calls can’t be tracked down and stopped legally!

Got three calls from this number when I wasn’t home, all about the same time in the day. Managed to pick up the call today though. The bloke said there was an issue with my computer. The chat went kinda like this:
Me: Oh yeah? What computer exactly are we talkin’ about?
Him: Do you have a laptop?
Me: No idea - thought you’d know since you already “know” I’ve got a computer problem, like you’re a wizard or something!

Me: Seriously? Did it call you up to complain? How come my antivirus never spotted anything? And hold on, how did you get my number when it’s on the TPS list? That’s illegal, mate.

I got three calls today, 18/11/17, all from different people, each with a different name, telling me there’s something wrong with my computer. The first person, Jenny, who had an Indian accent, I told her straight up I don’t have a computer, I just use my phone, and asked her to remove me from their list. This Asian lady rang me up claiming my computer had issues, then passed me on to some bloke called 'David', also Asian. He told me to open the run box and type some stuff in, which I just faked doing. Then he asked what words appeared on the screen, so I just spelled out 'bugger off you ****ing idiot'. This 01539738785 number has called me loads recently but never drops a voicemail. (I don’t answer unless I recognise the caller.) I tried blocking it using 1572 via my phone provider but it won’t let me since it says the number’s withheld. Funny thing is, I can still see the number when I ring 1471!

Got one of those “Tech Support” calls claiming to be from Microsoft, saying there was a virus on my PC. I’m well aware it’s a scam, especially since I’m a Microsoft Certified engineer and have been in IT for more than a decade. I told the bloke this straight away, but he kept arguing and still wanted access to my computer! Honestly, I think phone companies really need to start taking responsibility and stop letting international scammers use local numbers.

This bloke, calling himself "Frank," with an Asian accent, rang up saying my PC was in danger and warned me not to download anything else. Every time I get these spam calls at work, I flick open the drawer so they can hear all the noise inside. It’s a bit of a laugh, really. Got a call from this number earlier, and when I quickly googled it, found this thread here. The bloke on the phone had an accent and claimed there was a problem with my 'Personal Computer'. I told him straight up that it sounded like a scam and mentioned how this number pops up all over the web. He then said, "I'm not trying to sell you anything!" which made me even more suspicious. I asked who he wanted to speak to and explained that I run a proper IT firm. Next thing, he just hung up on me. He keeps talking about Microsoft tech support and asks me to get on my laptop, which I obviously said no to, and he got pretty rude after that. On the sixth time, I told him I’d saved his number and was about to report him to the police, and he acted like I was daft. This guy is a real pest and quite intimidating since he just won’t stop. He called again this morning, so I just hung up straight away.

Got a call from a guy who sounded Asian, asking if I owned 'the' computer. I was like, "What computer?" and he replied, "The one you’re using." I told him to jog on! Then he started shouting, so I just hung up. I’m so over these annoying calls! How on earth do they have my mobile and even my landline? It's really unsettling!

Some guy rang saying his name was Albert, which was a laugh cos his accent was totally foreign. He reckoned I'd called him about my computer, which I never did. Told him I don't even have a PC, and when he asked about a laptop I said no to that too. Then he just hung up on me.

Some woman with a funny accent called saying there was a problem with my computer, but I could hardly catch what she was saying. She kept telling me to press this key next to the ctrl and the R together - I told her I'd done it even though I hadn’t. Then she wanted me to type something else, but I just said my screen went blank because the battery died. She said she’d wait while I plugged it back in. Then I busted out with “oh, my mate just showed up and I need to, erm, suck his c**k.” Had to spell it out a couple of times, and she asked if she could have 5 minutes. I told her no way, ‘cause I gotta do it now, and he always wants me to swallow it. That’s when she probably got the message and hung up. Hope I didn’t mess anything up too bad...

Got a call from 01539738785 earlier today, and the bloke was going on about my computer having a bad virus or spyware or something. I've dealt with these con artists before, so I pretended I don’t even own a PC. Then he guessed it might be a laptop, but I told him I don’t have one of those either. He accused me of lying and questioned why I’m signed up to Virgin Broadband if that was true. I just told him to jog on and ended the call. What a waste of time!

Said they were from Microsoft, same dodgy scammers just now using 01539 codes. Microsoft NEVER rings you unless you’ve reached out first. If they cant sort it out straight away, they'll arrange a callback with a special reference number and usually tell you the name of the person who'll call back. IF THEY DON'T GIVE YOU THIS UNIQUE NUMBER, THEY AINT MICROSOFT. Ask for it, and they usually drop the call straight away.

Got a message on my voicemail today from this number, saying HMRC is about to take legal action against me. They didn’t say who exactly, just told me to press 1 to talk to my "case officer". I’m pretty sure if HMRC were actually involved, I’d have got a letter addressed to me first. Feels dodgy to me, like they’re just randomly hoping someone will fall for it. Could easily scare someone older into calling back, which is worrying.

Got a ring from someone called David. He said every time I go online, my computer ends up with heaps of nasty files I never agreed to. I just told him that sounded rubbish, then he warned me I’d see for myself the next day when my PC wouldn’t even start up. Then he just cut off. Now I’m here, nervous as heck to see what happens tomorrow!

A guy with an Asian accent rang me up, claiming there were issues with my computer and pretending to be from Microsoft. I just let him go on until he asked if I was at my computer. I told him I wasn’t. Then he insisted I turn it on. I explained that I don’t have a computer and told him he was a fraud trying to get my personal info. He started swearing and hung up on me. Funny enough, I actually do have both a laptop and a desktop, but I prefer to just listen to these scammers talk their nonsense before they reveal their true intentions.

Got a call from a number that looked UK but showed up as some foreign code on my screen. A guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from some IT department started saying I needed to get on my computer. Don't bother answering if you get a call from someone named 'Albert' - it's a total con. Me and my partner are pretty handy with computers, so when he tried to explain stuff, it was obvious he was clueless. He ended up just hanging up on us. Honestly, the best thing is to just ignore these calls and make sure your mates and family know to do the same.

Got a call from this firm just now, an Asian guy was on the line. He claimed my PC was at risk. I told him straight away there’s no way I’d fall for such a scam. He got louder, shouting my computer would get hacked within a couple of hours! Naturally, I got pretty annoyed, hate these con artists. He shot back with, “Fine then, lose your computer in two hours!” These companies seriously should be shut down. ASAP. On 21/09/2017 around 11:05, I picked up this number quickly since I was waiting for an important call and didn’t bother to check who it was. The man on the phone, speaking with an Asian accent, said his name was Larry and claimed he was ringing about my laptop. I told him I didn’t own one, but he kept insisting I did. Hey there, I’m a kind of ethical hacker, and I gotta say this number is sketchy (scam alert). After digging around a bit, I found out the caller is getting your number from social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter or any place where you might’ve put your phone number. My tip? Some bloke from "tech support" rang me earlier, sounded Asian and called himself "John Wilson". He said there was something wrong with my computer. I kept asking him to tell me his name again, his phone number, and what exactly was wrong, but he just got a bit rude with me. Wasn't happy I kept questioning him. In the end, I just gave up and ended the call. Pretty sure it was a scam right from the start. Don't know how they even get hold of your number in the first place???
