Is there any way to put an end to this? They keep ringing me every half an hour!

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from BT, saying there was an issue with my internet. She told me to switch on my computer and follow some steps, but when I told her I don’t own a computer, she just ended the call. I then called BT myself to let them know and gave them the number. The guy I spoke to confirmed BT wouldn’t ask for things like that but said he’d add the number to their system to keep an eye out. I’ve blocked the number now so if they ring again, they won’t get anywhere.

I saw a local number pop up but didn’t pick up, and now I’m happy I didn’t after looking it up here. This website is really handy and quite eye-opening, even if some of what you find can be a bit unsettling.

They keep calling from local numbers and it's getting so annoying having to block each one.

I kept getting calls from a weird number, some dodgy foreign accent on the line. The call always got cut off but the phone kept buzzing on and off. They claimed it was BT or something, but it’s obviously a con.

Was half asleep and missed the call, lucky really. Even though the number looked local, it also showed up as international. I keep getting calls from a woman with an Indian accent, claiming she’s from BT Openreach. She’s always trying to get me to press the Windows key and R on my laptop, saying she wants to fix some issue. I told her I’d have my IT guy look at it instead, but she said only she could help. I didn’t know who she was, so I ended the chat politely but firmly. Then the same number called again bright and early, like 8.30 on a Saturday, but I ignored it.

This is just another take on the classic "I'm calling from Microsoft" con, where they try to get into your PC and then trick you into paying for pointless fixes. Avoid it, it's a total rip-off.

A person saying they were from BT Openreach got quite pushy when I told them I wasn’t interested.

Got a call from someone saying they worked at BT Openreach, sounded like their English was really bad. When I called them out on it being a scam, they just started swearing at me, proper rude like.

Really annoying, keeps calling even after I hung up. The voice sounds like it’s from overseas, and the call always cuts out. Definitely a scam.

Got a call earlier, they asked how my day had been and then just ended the call right after. Was pretty courteous about it all, but this is my second call from them today.
