Got a call from someone saying they’re from BT, telling me there’s an issue with the exchange and they’ll cut my line off unless I press a button. I’m not even a BT customer, so obviously it was a scam trying to get me to dial a premium rate or something. Avoid it!

I’m with Sky, but keep getting calls about my BT line, bit confusing really!

I got a voicemail saying my BT service was going to be cut off because of some threat, but I couldn’t really catch what it was about. The message told me to hit #1 if I was with BT or #2 if I wasn’t. Thing is, I’m not even with BT. I just hung up straight away. Smells like a scam trying to make you dial some expensive number!

I received a recorded call purporting to be from BT, which struck me as quite odd since I’m not even a BT customer! The message warned that my line would be cut off today due to some sort of alleged threat, although I couldn’t quite catch the specifics-it was all rather muddled. I was then prompted to press #1 to connect with BT or #2 for other service providers. The voice was distinctly synthetic, sounding very much like an American, which only heightened my suspicions. It all seems like a total con to trick unsuspecting people into dialling a premium rate number. Avoid it like the plague!
