Got a call saying our internet’s going to be cut off. They claimed to be from Sky, but we don’t even use them for broadband! Seems dodgy to me.

Today around noon, I missed a call from 01538372819 because it only rang a few times and I couldn’t pick up quick enough. Later, I used 1471 to check the number, and it turned out to be this one. Just a heads up, if you do answer, don't share any sensitive info with them.

Some bloke said he was from Sky, saying there was a virus on my phone line. Didn’t sound legit to me at all. I played along for a while just to see where it was going, then called him out as a scammer. He ended up dropping a load of swear words and told me to f### off. Pretty obvious con in the end.

Got a call from some guy sounding all English with one of those dodgy office noise backdrops. I just said I don't do phone calls for questions and hung up on him.

Got a call this morning from these scammers around 9:06am, saying my internet was all hacked or something. It was some dodgy automated American voice spouting rubbish, so I didn’t bother trying to argue with it. Just ended the call straight away.

Got a call around 10:20 this morning from someone saying they were from my internet service provider, Shirley. They told me my ISP had been hacked and that my computer was in danger from hackers in different countries. They asked me to press 1 to speak to a tech expert. Total SCAM, just like what’s been said before.

Somebody called pretending to be from my internet company. I usually just play along and keep chatting to them for as long as possible. They often ask what’s showing on your screen, right? So I tell them I’m actually a cop, I’ve got their location, and I’m on my way over, ha! Or sometimes I just say the letters you see on your screen spell out something silly like “u>r> a> muppet” or something daft like that. Always gives me a laugh.

got a robocall claiming they were from some ‘internet provider’, said my ip's been used in loads of different countries and my connection would be cut off in a day. they said they needed to update my ip and send a new router, asked me to press 1 to speak to 'their tech team'. of course, i just hung up. i work in IT, and honestly there’s no way they could not even tell me who my provider was. did a reverse look-up and turns out the number is linked to a farm in stoke-on-trent. total scam.

Got a call from this number yesterday, same old nonsense about my internet getting cut off if I don’t press 1 or something. Ended up chatting with them for like an hour, was hilarious really. I just played dumb and kept asking the daftest questions. Definitely don’t give these jokers access to your laptop through any apps or programmes. Once they get into your machine, they’ll pretend to find all sorts of ‘problems’ that are actually nothing, then they lock your computer using some Windows key trick. Total scam, watch out!

Just got a call from this number, claiming I’d be disconnected unless I sorted something out straight away. They told me to hang up and call my provider but it’s definitely a scam. Said they were from BT but don’t believe it!
