After hanging up, I was subsequently contacted by 01536762054, where a woman inquired about a call I supposedly made to her from my landline. The truth is, I hadn't reached out to her at all! She came across as a lovely, down-to-earth woman from the north, and I believe she's genuine. Nonetheless, considering my BT phone is set up to block all calls save for those from my saved contacts, it's quite baffling that these two managed to come through. Could it be that the first caller has somehow hijacked my phone number to pull a scam on someone else?
