Someone rang claiming to be from BT, said they're fixing local broadband problems. Asked if my router had any weird blinking lights. Then started quizzing me about my broadband speed and what kind of device I use, like my computer or tablet. Since I've worked in telecoms, it seemed a bit suspicious and smartly done. Turns out it was a scam, so watch out!

Guess who called me again? Michael from Microsoft, trying to sell me an upgrade. Thing is, I don’t even have a Microsoft account! Told him "thanks, but no thanks" and hung up.

At first there was just silence, then I heard lots of noise like a call centre, and suddenly it went quiet again.

This person said they were from Microsoft and that there was an issue with my laptop. I just said I wasn’t interested and ended the call. Right after, they tried ringing me again but I ignored it.

Got a call from a lady with an Asian accent first... wasn’t interested at all and then she passed me onto a guy named Jack who said he was ringing from Microsoft in Reading. The numbers he used were actually from Kettering and Hemel Hempstead though. Just a heads up, these scammers really know how to sound legit. As soon as he found out I use an Apple phone, he just ended the call.

Got a call from someone saying they were Peter Yang from Microsoft. This woman was proper rude and started telling me my computer was all compromised. She got really nasty, threatening that if I didn’t follow their orders, my whole system would crash and I'd lose all my stuff. Honestly, it was a really unpleasant experience.

Watch out for this one. The person on the other end was really nasty and pushy, even going as far as saying they'd block my Microsoft account and mess with my computer just because I didn’t do what they wanted.

The phone buzzed with an unknown number, so I answered but stayed silent. After a short pause, the caller hung up. Pretty clear it was just another scam.

I ended up answering the call by accident since the number looked kinda familiar and I wasn’t wearing my specs. So, I decided to look it up on this site later and sure enough, it turned out to be another scam. It was a woman with a strong Asian accent claiming she was from Microsoft - total nonsense!

I got a call from someone who said they were with Virgin’s tech support, asking questions about my internet connection. This was actually the fourth call today, each one coming from a new number. It all seemed a bit dodgy, so I just said I’d contact Virgin myself if something was wrong, then they ended the call.

They call me a few times every week saying they're with Sky and that my internet's running slow, trying to fix it on the phone. But if I say I'm not a Sky customer, they hang about a few days and ring back pretending to be from another internet company.

I’m registered with the TPS so why do they keep ringing me up out of the blue? Feels like they’re just ignoring the rules and calling anyway.

A woman rang me, claiming to be from 'security' linked to Virgin. However, she abruptly changed her tune, stating it was actually BT Connect when I mentioned I wasn't a Virgin customer. She insisted there was a security threat concerning my broadband and urged me to access 'pmaystore' on my mobile for some sort of security fix. It all felt quite dubious, and I told her I wasn't keen on proceeding with that. In the end, she just hung up.

I received a rather dodgy phone call from a bloke claiming to be representative of Microsoft, supposedly regarding issues with my computer. It was obvious he was in a call centre overseas. When I informed him that I hadn’t initiated any contact with Microsoft, he outright accused me of lying and resorted to rather crude language along with some unsettling threats. Honestly, it was the most shocking and aggressive conversation I've ever had over the phone.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from the Windows tech support about my computer. I told her I only use an Android tablet but she insisted it was relevant. When I called it out as a scam, she got really rude and said my info was on my ‘Computer Licence’. Absolutely fed up with these calls, so I’ve blocked and reported this number too!

I got a call from a bloke claiming to be from Microsoft about my PC. Sounded like he was stuck in some overseas call centre. When I told him I never contacted Microsoft, he accused me of lying and started swearing and even made some really nasty sexual threats. Honestly, it was the worst, most offensive phone call I’ve ever had.

My elderly mum got two calls back-to-back from this firm, luckily I answered both times. The bloke said he was from Microsoft, but I quickly told him I wasn’t interested and ended the call. Then the phone rang again and he rudely told me not to hang up and that I had to take the call, which felt a bit intimidating. I’m really glad I was the one who picked up, not my mum.

Got two calls pretty close together today. My wife answered the first one but the caller just hung up - might not be connected though. Then I used 1471 to find out who called from this number last, and I rang back, but there was no way to leave a message. Seems a bit dodgy if you ask me.

What a dodgy call that was! An Asian lady rang up claiming to be from the Windows tech support team, chatting about some computer issue or another. When I mentioned I was using a tablet, I flat out told her it sounded like a scam. She didn't take it well at all and was rather impolite, I must say! This needs to be addressed, honestly.

I got a call from a guy with an accent, said he was from BT and wanted me to log into my laptop because my internet was having problems and they might cut it off. My internet's been fine though. He said the internet would be down for three days. I just ended the call and tried calling the number back, but nobody picked up and I couldn’t leave a voicemail or anything. There was no BT greeting, just a normal mobile answerphone tone.

Seems like another scam call to me! I always pick up but stay quiet since I don’t recognise the number. Most times, they just hang up because they don’t get a response, and it saves me the hassle of telling them to buzz off!
