Last Wednesday, the 8th of February, I got a call from someone pretending to be O2 in the afternoon. They said I could get 30% off one month’s bill and a free Android watch. I was busy cooking dinner and quite tired, so I didn’t really think much of it. They already knew my address and date of birth which freaked me out a bit. When they asked for my memorable word, they claimed it was just to sort the offer and reassured me they wouldn’t ask for any bank details. After hanging up, I started receiving texts from O2, supposedly from them. They asked me to read out the texts, which made me feel really uneasy. I called O2 straight away. After a long wait of about 45 minutes, I got through to a lady, but the connection was awful - kept cutting out like some kind of robot voice. Frustrated, I had to hang up and try again. Another 40 minutes later I finally spoke to someone and explained the situation and reported it as fraud. Turns out the scammer had used my account to order a phone that was sent to an address down south, near Hounslow. I also got delivery texts from DPD, which meant the phone had definitely been delivered, even though O2 said they were trying to cancel the order. Yesterday, I received a message saying the first payment for that phone, along with my regular bill, will be taken from my bank next month! I’m yet to hear back from the O2 fraud team. I called their scam number again on Monday, but all they told me was they couldn’t update me on anything. I’m not feeling too great health-wise and this whole thing has me on edge. Usually, I’m pretty cautious with dodgy calls and emails and always tell people to watch out, but this time I got caught off guard, and it’s been bloody stressful.

They said they were from O2, but clearly not. When I mentioned I wasn’t supposed to share my security code with anyone, they got awkward and just ended the call. Honestly, it was a bit of a silly distraction but kinda amusing in a way.

Got a call from this number and the person said they were from O2 trying to offer me an upgrade, which confused me since I’m not even with them. They asked loads about my current plan and if it was alright to ring me again later. The line was noisy with heaps of people chatting in the background, and the call quality was pretty rubbish - didn’t sound like your typical call centre at all.

My mum’s phone rang and when she picked up, there was someone talking but they ended the call really quick. I tried ringing them back from my mobile, putting 141 before the number, but it just gave a quick beep and then cut off right away. Yet another blocked caller from the endless bunch of numbers constantly phoning us!

some guy rang saying he was calling from currys pc world, i told him my number is on the TPS list so i dont get marketing calls. he kept saying its okay cos he wasnt actually asking me to buy anything. i told him he was breaking the rules coz if my number's on TPS, they’re not allowed to ring for marketing. he just hung up after that.

The call showed up as spam on my phone, so I didn’t pick up. I gave them a ring back using 141 from another line but it just didn’t go through. Didn’t get any voicemail from them either.
