I received a rather dubious phone call last Wednesday, the 8th of February, in the afternoon. The caller claimed to be from O2, touting some enticing offers-like a 30% discount on my bill for one month along with a complimentary Android watch. I was rather taken aback, as I was in the midst of preparing dinner and feeling quite knackered. What really threw me was that he had my address and date of birth, and then proceeded to ask for my 'memorable word' to apparently process this incredible offer. He reassured me that my bank details were not required, which in hindsight was a massive red flag. Before I knew it, I started receiving texts from O2. He asked me to confirm the contents of those messages, and it all felt exceedingly dodgy at that moment. I ended the call feeling quite on edge. In a flurry, I attempted to contact O2; after a lengthy 45-minute wait, I finally reached a representative, but the line was horrendous-sounded more like a malfunctioning Dalek! I had to hang up and call back, enduring another 40 minutes before I managed to explain my situation and report it to their fraud team. To make matters worse, I discovered that this scoundrel had placed an order for a mobile phone using my account, set to arrive at an address in Hounslow, down south. According to texts I received from DPD, it seems the phone was indeed delivered, despite O2 claiming they were trying to cancel the order from my account. Now, I've just been informed that the payment for this phone, in addition to my regular bill, will be deducted from my bank account next month! I've yet to hear back from the O2 fraud team. I contacted the scam hotline again on Monday, but they said they couldn’t provide me with any updates. This entire ordeal has been absolutely nerve-wracking, especially considering my current health condition. I'm usually quite vigilant when it comes to dodgy calls and emails, and I often warn others, but this time, I let my guard down! 🀬

Pretending to be O2, weren’t they? Clearly, they weren’t the genuine article. When I told them I wouldn’t share my security code with anyone, they seemed quite flummoxed. And then, just like that, they cut the line! Quite the amusing little waste of time, I must say.

I picked up the phone when this number rang, and a person claimed to be from O2, offering me an upgrade - which was odd since I’m not even with that provider! They started probing about my current package and wondered if they could ring me again later. The background was absolutely chaotic, filled with chatter, and honestly, the sound quality was dreadful; it didn’t feel like a standard call centre at all.

I received a call on my mum's mobile. When I picked it up, I could hear chatter in the background, but they cut off almost instantly. I tried ringing back, using 141 to withhold my number, but all I got was an incessant fast busy tone before they disconnected me. Yet another number to add to the ever-growing list of nuisances that keep pestering me!

Claimed to be affiliated with Curry's PC World, he called me up. I reminded him that I'm on the Telephone Preference Service, meaning marketing calls aren't permitted. He stubbornly maintained that he was within his rights since he wasn't soliciting anything directly. However, as soon as I highlighted that he was violating the regulations regarding TPS numbers, he abruptly ended the conversation. Very dodgy behaviour, if you ask me!

I received a call from this number, but they didn't pick up when I answered. My phone flagged it as a spam call. I attempted to return the call using another line with 141 for anonymity, yet there was no response. They also didn't leave any message in my voicemail.
