Reports on phone number 01536658991
3 yearsI got a call from a woman who said her name was Skye - at first I thought she was from the Sky TV company. Turns out that was actually her real name. She came across as friendly enough. She went on to say that she was contacting me on behalf of the DVLA about some issues involving a recall for certain diesel BMW and Vauxhall cars. Then she asked if I owned a Vauxhall and quoted my exact registration number. I told her I did, but pointed out that since my car was first registered back in January 1937 and runs on petrol, it seemed unlikely to be part of any recall. She agreed and the call ended shortly after. What’s really odd is not so much that she knew my registration, but how on earth she got it in the first place, along with my phone number - which is ex-directory. She didn’t ask for money or any personal info, which made the whole thing feel quite strange.SkyeDVLA3 yearsJust a short while ago, I tried to report the caller but not sure if it went through to you. Could you please let me know if you got it?3 yearsSince I didn’t get any response, I gave sending the message another go. After a few hours, my screen showed ‘Still processing data’. I went back and hit ‘Send’ again, but that same message popped up right away. I’m giving up now.3 yearsSome bloke called Andy wanting a chat about emissions, but as soon as I told him I wasn't bothered, he just ended the call.Andy3 yearsI usually ignore calls from numbers I don't recognise - probably just another scam.3 yearsThis number keeps calling me and promptly disconnecting.3 yearsAvoid this number at all costs and block it straight away. I got a call from some dodgy person yesterday who had my name and car reg plate, asking about some fuel claim for diesel. My car runs on petrol though. Didn’t really matter as I work in law and immediately asked where they got my info from. They claimed it came from the DVLA! No chance. I then told them they were breaching GDPR and demanded their name and company details. The call was quickly ended. Tried calling back and all you get is a pointless robot tone. These sorts of calls should be shut down, yet they keep going in the UK without any consequences!DVLAUK3 yearsAnyone know if these folks are for real?3 yearsLoads of spam calls lately! I had a ring from a woman with a northern accent yesterday; she mentioned my name and my car’s registration, which was a bit creepy. The signal was rubbish though, so I couldn’t chat properly and asked her to ring me back in 10 minutes. She never did. Today, I saw she called again but didn’t pick up on purpose. Later, I looked up the number online and, thank goodness I did! The info she gave me before the call cut out was exactly the same as what people have reported - she knew stuff about me and my vehicle. Dodgy call for sure!3 yearsI work in one of those fields too, so I reckon it's probably aimed at us.3 yearsI got a call from a woman who seemed really unprofessional and kept calling me "love," which felt a bit off. She was talking about emissions tests shortly after I'd just renewed my car tax. Now I'm wondering if this might be connected to the place where I sorted my renewal, but I'm not too sure.3 yearshere's a trick... if you get a call, dont just hang up straight away. leave the phone off the hook so the line stays busy. they won't be able to make calls for ages and end up getting charged. I tried this with a caller around midnight and it kinda messed with them for a long time.3 yearsThat was actually pretty awesome, mate!3 yearsI recently got a call about some diesel emissions issue, and they seemed to already know pretty much everything about me. It set off alarm bells when they gave an old address for my car, even though I’d just moved and updated my details. I have no clue where they’re pulling all this info from!3 yearsI’m fed up with these numbers keepin’ ringing me, it’s gotta be a scam. Please stop callin’!3 yearsI received an inquiry about whether we're still in possession of our car or if we've sold it. They also wanted to know if we have any other Vauxhall vehicles in our name. It seemed a bit off, to be honest, and had the whiff of something fishy. They mentioned my partner by name and even rattled off his registration number! Quite suspicious, if you ask me. 🤔3 yearsI didn’t say anything when I answered the phone, and the call just ended with a beep straightaway. Looks like it was some kind of auto dialler, probably trying to charge 23p to pick up and then 16p a minute after that. Put it on blocked straight away.3 yearsThis number rang me up earlier offering insurance, which I politely said no to. I figured that was the last of it, but now they’re calling all the time. Sometimes there’s no sound, other times they hang up straight away. Bit odd, if you ask me.3 yearsI run a little business selling spices and herbs so my family can enjoy tasty homemade curries.3 yearsUgh, another round of spam calls non-stop! Does anyone have a meat cleaver lying around? This is getting ridiculous!3 yearsGot a call earlier about some emissions thing, and they even knew what kind of car I own. I’m pretty sure they got my details from a dodgy list or some kind of illegal way. Definitely worth reporting this…Submit Your Own Report (01536 658991)
