This number has rung me on numerous occasions, but whenever I attempt to return the call, I get a message saying that the number isn’t in service. Quite baffling, really!

I got a call from this number, showing up on my phone, and a woman named Tanya was saying I’d been involved in a minor car accident. She asked if I was happy with the repairs. Thing is, I haven’t had any sort of accident at all. When I didn’t confirm anything, she eventually provided me with the driver’s full name, the car’s registration, a reference number, and the name and contact number of the company she claimed supplied her with all this info. I checked out the address she gave me for the driver and it’s a real place, and a quick Google search confirmed the vehicle registration matches up. But after speaking with someone from that company and looking on their website, it turns out they don’t share details like that as part of their service, so it made me quite suspicious. After gathering all the info, I told Tanya I hadn’t been in any accident, that address wasn’t mine, and I definitely don’t own that car. I’m left wondering and quite worried about how my phone number, which is unlisted and registered with the TPS, ended up linked to the wrong details. Caller was Tanya, apparently working for some ‘insurance review company’ based in Kettering.

Got a call from someone saying I’d been in a small car crash, even though I’ve never had an accident. When I asked who they were, they said it was Albany Assured. Told them I’d never come across that company before and just ended the call. Later, I phoned the number back and an answering machine said it was a telemarketing line. I’m on the TPS, so I have no idea how they got my number. The caller said they were from Albany Assured.
