Got a call from this number saying they were from Microsoft, offering to help me with my Microsoft account details. Problem is, I haven’t touched any Microsoft stuff for ages. I said I’d get in touch with Microsoft directly, and she asked when I’d do that. Felt quite dodgy to me. Seems like one of those scams where they keep the line open a bit. If you do ring Microsoft to check, best use a different phone just in case. Pretty sure it’s a scam, 99% certain.

Got a couple of calls today from this number claiming to be Virgin Media, one rang my mobile and the other was on my home phone. It’s the second time I've got calls like this today, honestly getting pretty sick of these fraudsters. Luckily I’m quite wary so I don’t fall for their tricks, but I guess they must be making quite a bit off people who aren’t as cautious.

They said they were from Microsoft but I told them I don’t even own a computer and just hung up on them.

If you want this to be looked into and the number stopped, you can text the info to 7726, like the police Action Fraud phishing site says. They might reply asking you to send the details again so don't be surprised.

Seems like I’ve encountered a dodgy character - I tried to ask a question, but they just kept prattling on without pause, and then abruptly cut the call.

Got a call from a bloke sounding Indian, kept jabbering even when I tried to cut in. Reckoned it was something about tech support or Windows. When I went quiet and didn’t say anything after his long spiel, he just gave up and ended the call.

Whenever I answer calls from these nutters, I just stay quiet for a bit and then they usually end the call after a few seconds!

Got a call from a strange number with a weird accent. Just hung up straight away. Probably one of those annoying cold calls or scams. Don’t want to be bothered by them again.

I picked up the phone but nobody said anything on the other end, seriously wish they'd sort this out already.

Got a ring from this number claiming they were from BT, but I didn’t buy it and ended the call quickly. Tried to block them since I’ve got BT Protect, but weirdly it wouldn’t let me because it said it was an unknown number. That’s never happened before! Even odder, the call didn’t show up at all in my call history. Now that’s proper strange - makes me wonder what kind of tech they’re using to stay hidden like that!

Got a call from a woman claiming to be with Microsoft, saying she needed to discuss something about my PC. When I asked her where she was calling from, she said Reading. She then told me to look at a report she’d sent, but when I asked how, she said it’s on my computer. I refused to follow her instructions and when she asked why, I told her I thought it was a scam. She hung up on me straightaway.

Got a call today from someone claiming they were from BT. He started talking about changes to my internet and asked if I’d made any adjustments myself. When I asked him to prove he was actually from BT, he just hung up on me! There’s no way that was legit BT - definitely a scam!
