A friendly-sounding woman, who sounded middle-aged, asked if she was speaking to me by name, which she got right. I asked who she was, and she said she was ringing about the lottery run by my local hospital trust. That’s when I just hung up straight away. Later on, I looked it up and turns out my local hospital doesn’t run any lottery, so clearly another scam. Glad I didn't fall for it!7 monthsIt showed as a local number so I picked up just in case it was the vet’s surgery phoning me back - I was expecting a call from them, though this wasn’t their usual contact. Turned out not to be them. The woman on the line seemed quite pleasant and it was about some local charity thing. Still, I’m not a fan of unsolicited calls, no matter the cause.
