Got a call from 01536210195 earlier claiming to be BT Openreach, saying there was an issue with my internet - which there wasn’t! When I called him out on it, he said something about being there to “survive” me and then got really rude, warning me I was in serious trouble! I just chuckled and ended the call. Blocked the number through 1572 after that. I’m guessing they’ll keep trying though, especially with Christmas coming up, as calls like this are definitely on the rise.

This woman called saying my internet was acting up and I should check the speed of my router. I told her everything was working fine on my end. She kept insisting I had to check it anyway. I told her I wasn’t going to do anything and then she just hung up on me. Definitely one of those scam calls.

I wasn’t at home when my landline rang, and there was no voicemail left afterwards. Normally, if it’s someone genuine, they’d leave a message. So, my guess is this call probably wasn’t legit.

This number has called me about five times now, and the last couple of calls were just dead silence. Really irritating.

No doubt this was a call from an Indian scam centre. The bloke couldn’t even talk properly in English, just kept jabbering nonsense. I fired back at him in Hindi, then he lost his temper and hung up on me.

Got a call from a bloke with a strong Indian accent claiming he was calling from BT in London, but the number didn’t match any London codes. He was going on about trying to access my router or something dodgy like that. I told him straight up he wasn’t really from BT and then he got all bossy, threatening to cut off my internet if I didn’t help him. Some bloke rang up saying he was with Sky internet saying there was an issue with our router. He gave me the number 02032897720, apparently the line he was calling from. We don’t even have Sky so I knew straight away it was dodgy. I just kept him on the line for a while, then he brought his manager on. Got a call from someone calling himself Peter Disuza, trying the same old BT hack scam on me. I managed to keep the bloke chatting for half an hour, then told him I needed to get back to work and that I’d ring BT on their official free number later. Got a call from some scammers pretending to be Sky Tech Support. They said my modem was throwing up error messages whenever I try to go online, which ain’t true at all. They kept ringing from these numbers 01883779900 and 01274214503 every time I hung up on them. Sorted now - I’ve blocked both numbers. Total nuisance!

Got calls from the same number thrice today! The first one claimed to be from Sky, then the second caller said they were from Microsoft, and the third was back to Sky again. Got a call from this number and straight away I was a bit iffy about it. My internet had been acting up lately so I played along just to see what they wanted. They got me to download a couple of apps, one was called AnyDesk. I gave permission without realising they were actually viewing my phone screen and guiding me through what to do next. Soon after, there was a prompt to accept some kind of access. They kept telling me to just tap “allow”, but I wanted to have a proper look first which seemed to annoy the bloke on the other end. I told him I’d ring Sky when I got the chance and ended the call. He rang back straight away but I didn’t pick up. After that, I uninstalled those apps and changed some settings. Some bloke called saying he was Charles from BT, but his accent was really dodgy, kinda Asian and hard to understand. He said there was an issue with my router. I just got a call from this number, with a bloke who sounded like he was from abroad. He claimed to be from BT and said my internet router had some sort of hacking file on it, and that BT had been getting messages from it for weeks. I asked him if he could give me a phone number so I could call back, but instead he offered his name and employee ID. He said he was called Brian Wilson, so I jokingly asked if he was in the Beach Boys band. He said no (bit funny), then he showed me some kind of ID and started trying to mess with my router remotely. I told him I wasn’t free right now and asked him to be straight with me about what he wanted. After that, he just hung up.

Then he asked what gadgets I had connected, I told him straight up he was fishing for info, but he denied it. After that, I said we actually don’t have internet on this phone line at all, which is true. He then swore at me and just hung up. Proper cheeky bloke.
