Got two calls but didn’t pick up, no messages left. As soon as I saw the number, I just blocked it straight away.

Got a call from some bloke pretending to be from Google, saying he’d shut down all my stuff unless I listened. Funny thing was, he couldn’t even say what gadgets I own. He kept saying he was calling from New Jersey but didn’t even know which part. Definitely a dodgy scammer, using a fake phone number from Jersey to try and trick me.

Just like others have said, this bloke claimed to be from Google security. When I questioned him, he said he was in New Jersey, USA, but couldn’t name a single place or café nearby. Then, I asked him what device he was meant to be protecting - phone, laptop, or Mac - and he didn’t know. When I called him out for guessing, he got pretty annoyed. He threatened to lock all my gadgets, and I just told him to go ahead and try.

Like some others have said, I got really annoyed by this caller ringing me again and again. He claimed to be from Google and said there was a problem with my laptop's security. I just kept not answering, but he called about 10 times in a row. This is my private landline that I never share and isn’t on any directory, so I have no idea how they managed to get hold of it.
