Then about an hour later they rang again and a guy with an Indian accent asked if I'd had issues with my internet and brought up BT. It was pretty clear they were trying to trick me into letting them access my computer, even though I’m not even a BT customer. To me this sounds risky, like they could easily install ransomware or something nasty on someone’s device without them knowing.
