this bloke said he was with bt openreach so i asked him about my missing refund. he then asked for my bt account number and i told him he should already have it since he had my phone number, then i just ended the call. a few mins later the same guy rang again but now using a different number 01314430966.

Around 1 in the afternoon on the 8th of January 2022, I caught a quick snippet of a woman’s voice, maybe with an Indian accent, but then it just went quiet.

Well, you could tell it was coming from a call centre 'cos there was a lot of noise in the background. The voice seemed like it was an Asian woman. When they called a second time, I just ignored it and let it ring out.

I received a call from a bloke with an Indian accent, who introduced himself as Oliver Smith, purporting to be from BT. He claimed there was an issue with my router and insisted I be near my laptop to sort it out. When I mentioned I didn’t own one, he quickly shifted gears and asked about a smartphone - to which I also had to reply negatively. My instincts kicked in, and I told him I would reach out directly to BT, as I suspected it was all a ruse. He promptly cut the call.
