Thankfully, nothing seemed amiss, which confirmed my initial instincts were indeed correct-it was a phishing attempt. A couple of hours later, I got a call from yet another number that relayed the same concerning message. Since then, I've decided to be extra cautious; I only pick up calls from numbers I recognise and let any unknown callers go straight to voicemail. Interestingly, I’ve observed that many of those unknown numbers seem to hang up as soon as my answering machine kicks in.
