Got a call from some Indian bloke claiming to be from BT. I messed about with him for ages, keeping him on the line and burning his minutes. Proper satisfying watching him get all wound up when he twigged I was having a laugh. Absolutely love winding those nutters up, brightens my day no end.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from EE. He asked loads of questions and somehow already knew who I bank with, my date of birth, and even my postcode. Said they wanted to reduce my direct debit to £12 a month as a “thank you” for sticking with them. Of course, they tried to get me to hand over my card info but I wasn’t having any of it. They’ve just rung me again but I didn’t pick up.

I just received a call from this number claiming I'd been granted a discount on my phone bill. When I mentioned that I hadn't seen any correspondence regarding this, they insisted it was an exclusive offer just for me. I politely thanked them and ended the conversation. Quite an odd experience, really.

Received a call offering a discount on my BT landline rental, they actually knew my name and address. They asked for my date of birth, so I questioned how they could prove they were really from BT. As soon as I did that, the call ended suddenly. The number was 01529462165, I got the line from 1471.

Got a call from someone with a foreign accent claiming to be from BT. I shot back, "Here we go again with that one! Quit taking up both our time." Funny enough, just a minute earlier, I had a silent call from 0150 1836032. Different number but same area code, which was a bit odd.

An Asian woman called me pretending to be from BT, but when I wouldn’t share my birth date, she just ended the call. I really hope the authorities manage to catch her.

Got a call from a bloke who sounded Asian, asked if I was Mrs followed by my surname. Told him that was the wrong name and he just ended the call. A few days ago, I also received an automated message claiming to be from Ofcom, warning that my internet would be cut off within a day. Don’t bother talking to these lot, it’s clear they’re scammers.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT, offering a huge discount on my bill. She asked for all my details like date of birth and stuff. I fed her loads of made-up info and kept her chatting for ages until she clocked I was having her on. Then she got proper annoyed, and I couldn’t help but laugh. Honestly, messing with these scammers is such a laugh - love turning the tables on them!

Received a dodgy call from this number, twice in a row. The first time, nobody said a word and the line just cut off. When they rang again, they wanted me to verify my name. But as soon as I asked them who they were, they ended the call straight away.

This number has rang me a couple of times today but never left any message on my voicemail, so I just blocked it. After reading the details here, I’m pretty sure it’s a scam. Cheers for sharing the info!

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent who said she was calling on behalf of BT. She already knew my address and even my wife’s last name, which isn’t the same as mine. She promised a discount of 35% on our bill along with free line rental for two years. When she asked for my date of birth, I told her if BT really wanted to help reduce the bill, they wouldn’t need that info. I then ended the call. The number's a UK one, but what they’re doing seems really dodgy and likely illegal. I’m planning to report it to the Lincolnshire Police.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent, she asked if I was Mr so and so but then used my wife's last name which is totally different from mine. When I asked who she was, I just said it was me she was talking to and she just dropped the call. Pretty clear scam if you ask me.

A caller claimed to represent my phone provider, telling me that as a valued customer, I was eligible for a 35% discount on my bill. However, they then proceeded to probe with personal questions, which struck me as rather suspicious.

Got a call from this number claiming they were from BT and that they’d cover our landline charges for two years. They asked my wife for her date of birth, which she refused to give, then tried asking for mine. After that, she just hung up. The lady on the phone had an Asian accent.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming he was from BT saying I’d been picked for two months off my landline bills. I instantly thought BT wouldn’t be giving away that kind of discount, but I played along until he started asking for my card and bank details, and that’s when I hung up. What worried me was he already knew my postcode, the last four digits of my BT account and the name of my bank. I called BT afterwards and they told me they hadn’t had any contact with me since last summer.

this lady with an accent i couldn’t place called me claiming she was from bt, saying my phone bill would drop by 35% and local calls would be free now. sounded fishy to me - bt wouldn’t just hand out discounts like that without warning through official channels like letters or emails. then she asked for my date of birth, which i didn’t give her and just ended the call. i’m pretty sure it’s a scam, gonna ring bt myself later to double check.
