I received a call today from someone asserting they were “calling to verify your home improvement grant”, attempting to make it sound like they were part of the Government. They went on about how “cavity wall insulation is only effective if the exterior of the property has been treated as well” and wanted to “verify and refresh the damp proof course”. It's blatantly obvious they’re just a private firm looking for business, disregarding the Telephone Preference Service, and exploiting government initiatives to gain access to homeowners.
