Got a call today but nothing was left on my call blocker, so I’m pretty sure it’s just another cold call scam.

A chap with an Indian accent rang me up, claiming to be from BT. He mentioned there was unusual activity on my router and that other IP addresses had been linked to it, despite the fact that I’m a Virgin Media customer! Then he went on about some compensation that I was supposedly entitled to and asked me to access my online banking. That struck me as odd, so I abruptly ended the call and reached out to my bank instead.

On 13th August 2018 at around 2.11pm, I got a call from 01527853440 but there was nothing but silence on the line. I looked up the number on [#]britishphonebook[###] and it showed a Joan M Drinkwater, probably an old record. Makes me wonder if BT’s giving out their numbers to scammers or something, like handing out numbers they can ring and use? These BT-related dodgy calls just keep coming, it's getting quite tiring!

It’s the council ringing once more, I think? Are they focusing on Derbyshire today? We’ve received loads of calls, some are totally quiet, others have people shouting horrible things. Just spent about five minutes with someone who called me all sorts, like a p## and even a dog. Funny thing, they dont take it well when you give it back to them :-)

Got a call this morning around 10:36, bloke said he was Michael from BT, but I reckon he was actually some guy from Mumbai. I messed about with him for a bit, then told him I wanted a chicken jalfrezi, a big naan and some really spicy bhajis. That’s when he snapped and told me to get lost. I fired back with a proper insult and the phone almost blew up in my hand!

This bloke claimed to be from BT tech support and warned me my internet would be switched off in 2 hours due to some "odd usage". His English was all over the place, and as soon as I said I don't even use BT, he just went quiet. Obviously a complete scam!!

Got a call supposedly from BT tech support saying there were strange IPs on my connection. The bloke started with "Good afternoon" even though it was only 9 in the morning! I just made some weird noises into the phone, like I do when I don’t want to talk to these pest callers, and then he shouted some really rude stuff at me. Watch out for scam calls like this.

Received a call from an Indian gentleman who identified himself as Alex Morgan, allegedly representing BT. He insisted that individuals could gain access to my phone and computer information. However, when I politely expressed my disinterest and mentioned my TPS registration, he turned quite aggressive and rude. Quite an unpleasant experience!

Got a call from a guy claiming he was from BT, saying there was some issue with my internet. I told him I wasn’t buying it and asked him to take my number off whatever list he had. Then he said I’d have to pay £1000 for that! I asked for his phone number and said I'd be reporting him to the cops. He gave me 0800800150 as his number, but I’m sure it wasn’t legit. Totally a scam!

On 13th August 2018 at about 10.35am, I got a call from 01527 853440. It was from a private number, I believe. I tried calling back, but the number was barred. I'm registered with TPS, so no idea why they called me. They hung up straight away when I answered.

So, on Monday 13th August 2018, I got a call from someone claiming to be from Openreach Technician Department. When I asked where he was from, he just said "Asian." Then he said 47 people were connected to my router or something. He tried to get me to turn on my computer and asked what key is next to the Control key. I told him to just send me a letter if there’s any issue, and then he suddenly started swearing at me, saying "F### Off" like six times. Proper rude!

They started off with "Morning, we’re from Openreach," which made me think there might be some kind of data breach with BT or Openreach. Got a call from 01527 853400, pretty much like what others have been saying. A guy claiming to be from BT, going by 'Alex Morgan', speaking with an Indian accent, told me people could get into my phone and personal info. I told him we’re on the TPS so he should take us off their calling list. Then he just went off, getting proper nasty, even made some awful comments about me and my hubby. Honestly, one of the creepiest calls I’ve had!

What a nightmare with these scam callers! I said I was with BT and asked for her staff ID (totally made up). She ended the call right away, but then rang again after about five minutes. They’ve phoned me pretty much non-stop this morning, probably around ten times now. This time, I managed to keep them on the line and plan to leave the phone off the hook as long as I can, hoping it’ll rack up some costs on their end.

Had a couple of calls today, early Saturday morning before 9:30. My missus picked up and told the caller exactly what she thought before slamming the phone down. Wish I’d grabbed it first, I’d have loved to keep him chatting. Honestly, these scammers wouldn’t keep ringing if they weren’t making a penny somehow. Some bloke rang me saying he was from BT Openreach, claiming someone was nicking my personal info through my router from outside my house. He said they’d be cutting off my internet within two hours to sort it out. Thing is, I told him I don’t even have internet at my place as BT isn’t available where I live, and then he just hung up on me. When I tried to call the number back, an automated message came up saying the number isn't recognised.
