5 monthsFor the past few weeks, I’ve been getting repeated calls and even daily messages from this number. They say they’re from a debt collection agency named Bristow and Sutor. Now, the actual company is real and located nearby in Redditch, but these calls aren’t from them. They use a different number and pretend it’s the direct line to pay off debts. They try to scare you by saying bailiffs will be sent if you don’t pay. I don’t owe anything, so it’s obviously a scam. Best thing is to just hang up and block the number.Bristow and SutorRedditch7 monthsBristow & Sutor (apparently). Legitimate debt collectors, but chasing a dead person and trying to pin it on me.BristowSutor7 monthsI think it might have been Bristow & Sutor, the debt collection firm. My phone showed they called me about 70 times just in a single day!Bristow & Sutor7 monthsGot two texts and then a call from this number saying they’d come to take my car if I don’t pay a £710 balance. Totally panicked, thinking how did I miss this? Turns out it’s something about a penalty fee I didn’t pay? I haven’t replied yet since I’m checking other people’s experiences with this number - the caller said his name was Gareth too. What did others do in this situation? Just ignore it? And did your car stay safe?Gareth1 year(LU-T 1125705) Started from TODAY, Bristow & Sutor are coming around to your place and might take stuff. There’ll be extra charges of £235 plus added on. You gotta pay everything right now if you want to avoid them taking things and stop more fees piling up. Check https://www.bristowsutor.co.uk/pay/ to sort it.Bristowco1 yearThis whole thing seems like a total scam to me.2 yearsGot a call from 01527 but didn’t pick up. Right after, I got a text from someone called No_REPLY warning me they’d auction off my car if I didn’t act. They told me to call a Gareth. Weird how Gareth keeps popping up in these kinds of messages!Gareth2 yearsGot a couple of missed calls from this number and then a text popping up saying I owe some money and if I don't pay up, they’ll be taking a ccj out on me. Didn't get any letters or anything before this, just came out of nowhere. I definitely don’t owe anything!2 yearsGot a ring, then a letter and a message all about an unpaid PCN. The link they gave looked like it was from TfL and showed my car inside the ULEZ area, so seemed believable enough. Just wondering if anyone else got anything else after? Like a visit at their place or something?TfLULEZ2 yearsGot an email today, with that big scary heading about an URGENT NOTICE - PCN OVERDUE with a WARRANT OF CONTROL from the County Court. This was the first I’d heard of any of it; no letters, texts, or anything beforehand. The message came from a Gareth, no last name given, at Bristow & Sutor. When I tried to reply to the email, I got an automatic reply telling me to call a number instead. I decided not to ring back since it all smells very much like a scam to me.County CourtWhatsAppGarethBristow&Sutor2 yearsGot a missed call earlier, so I rang back. As soon as someone picked up, the first thing they asked for was my case reference. They didn't mention who they were or what it was about at all.2 yearsI got a call from someone who said they were from the police, but I always thought only actual cops could say that. Definitely seemed like a scam to me.Submit Your Own Report (01527 509582)
