This morning I got a call from someone who actually knew my name. The guy had a kind of Scottish-American accent and claimed to be from Microsoft. He told me that my computer was hacked and offered to sort it out for me. I just told him he was a scammer and he ended up hanging up on me.

Got a phone call from this number today claiming he was calling from Reading, but when I asked for a postcode he didn’t have any idea. Mentioned something about Microsoft and you could hear loads of people chatting in the background, so definitely sounded like a call centre. I kept him on the line for a good while to hopefully stop someone else getting caught out by this ####.

About half an hour ago, I got a call from this number. The person claimed to be from Microsoft and oddly enough, he knew my name but used my old surname from before I got married. His accent was clear but not one I usually hear in England. He went on about shutting down my Microsoft account and even tried to book an appointment at his office! I didn’t wait around for any more of that nonsense - told him to just send me something in the post and then hung up straight away.

My partner answered a phone call from this number and told the bloke she suspected it was a scam. He ended up calling her a rude name. I rang the number back to find out what was going on, but of course, it just went to voicemail. Best to just ignore this one.
