8 monthsNot sure why folks are moaning so much. When you begin a new tenancy, Let Alliance sends you a link to fill out the required forms as part of the application. I got a phone call from them yesterday saying it was to 'speed things up', but I was just about to start work so asked if they could ring back at 10 this morning. Well, it’s gone 11:35 now and no sign of a call. I tried ringing them back but was stuck in a queue with that awful hold music playing. After a few minutes, I gave up - total waste of time!Let Alliance1 yearGot a text supposedly from Let Alliance saying: Hi Pierce, we've finished a reference check for your new rental with Jordan & Halstead. We want to talk about what comes next before you move in. Please ring us on 01522 838 766 or unsubscribe via https://tx.vc/o/3e0a3. Thing is, they’ve already done our reference process and they’ve got our number. Also, I’m not even their first contact, my dad is! How on earth do they have all these details? Either Let Alliance have leaked something or I have!Let AlliancePierceJordan & Halstead1 yearTwice they called me, but both times the call lasted just a second. After that, they sent me a message saying something like, "Hello from Let Alliance. We’ve completed a reference for you to rent a new place via Belvoir Skipton. We attempted to reach you yesterday as we want to talk about the next steps to assist you with your tenancy. Please ring us back on 01522 838 766 or opt out here: https://tx.vc/o/3e0a3." I'm actually in the process of moving with this agency, so it almost caught me out.AllianceBelvoir Skipton2 yearsThis number keeps sending me texts telling me to call about my application. I ended up ringing the lettings office who said they’d recommend insurance but it’s not compulsory. When I looked up Let Alliance, the number they gave didn't match the one bugging me to call. Very confusing!Let Alliance2 yearsLike a few others mentioned, I got a couple of texts from this number saying they were from a company I’m working with, saying they’ve been trying to reach me. But I haven’t got any missed calls or emails about this, and the official online account shows nothing pending for me. So I reckon these texts are probably some kind of phishing attempt. I’d say just block it, report it, and definitely avoid calling back or clicking any links in the messages.2 yearsI got a couple of texts supposedly from Let Alliance, said they'd been trying to get hold of me and I needed to ring them back. Thing is, I didn't see any missed calls at all. So I looked up the number online and stumbled onto this site. Just to be totally sure, I asked my lettings agent for their actual contact details, and it was definitely not the number in the texts. Honestly, don’t phone that number or tap on any links they send you!Let AllianceGoogle2 yearsPretty sure that call was from some sales team, maybe LetAlliance or something like that.LetAlliance2 yearsGot a couple of texts from this number asking me to get in touch. Weird thing is, both mentioned companies I'm actually dealing with right now. I didn't call back, but when I looked it up, the number belongs to Virgin Media - a firm I have no business with! How on earth did they manage to get my details, which companies I'm involved with, and all that? Seriously, watch out for this! It's sneaky as hell and honestly, it makes me furious thinking about the lack of morals and how tech is letting this happen. Anyone got a spare time machine handy? Would come in useful!Virgin MediaSubmit Your Own Report (01522 838766)
