Got a call from someone called ‘Shirley’ claiming to be from my internet provider, said my connection was at risk and might get disconnected in a day. This happened before and nothing came of it last time, doubt it'll be any different now. Beware of pressing ‘1’ to speak to a tech support person - it’s just trouble and stress waiting to happen.

I got a recorded message from a woman saying my internet was hacked and it'd be disconnected in a day. Asked me to press 1 to speak to a tech. I didn't bother pressing anything. Aren't these calls something the police should be looking into? I worry elderly folks might get tricked by scams like this.

Got a call around 2:40 this afternoon from some recorded voice with an American sounding accent. They claimed my IP address was hacked and told me I had to get my router and IP changed or my internet would get shut down within a day. They wanted me to press 1 to talk to a “technician” but I didn’t. Earlier that day, I was chatting with my neighbour who said they fell for a similar scam and ended up losing cash, so I was wary.
