Got a call claiming to be from bank security about my mum's debit card being used fraudulently. The thing is, she doesn't even have a card! Told her to just end the call next time, because it's really frightening for someone who's 85 and disabled.

Today, my phone rang with a rather dodgy call from this number. An automated voice, sounding like a lady, started chattering on about my bank and mentioning a couple of suspicious transactions linked to my account. She mentioned something about a £300 charge for Amazon, but I cut her off at that point and hung up. It was clearly a scam, so I wasted no time in blocking the number. I later made sure to report this nonsense to Amazon as well.

Didn’t pick up when the call came through. Saw some earlier comments and looks like it could be risky to answer.

I received a rather dodgy call today where the individual was probing for my banking information. They claimed that my card had been flagged for two suspicious transactions. Just a blatant scam, if you ask me!

Today I got a call from this number, and instead of pretending to be Barclays like before, they said they were from something called the Telephone call blocking service. They claimed I needed to do something to stop spam calls because apparently I wasn’t properly protected. I explained that I hardly ever pick up my landline and it was just luck that I answered that time. Once they realised I wasn’t interested or going to follow up, they just ended the call straight away.

Got a call saying there was unusual activity on my bank card - two payments, one of them over £1000, and they told me to press some buttons on my phone to cancel them. Felt dodgy straight away, so I hung up and looked the number up using 1471. Turns out the number wasn’t even linked to my bank. Really glad I didn’t do anything!

Got a call saying I needed to pay using my Barclays debit card and was told to press button 1. I called the number on the back of my card just to be sure. Turns out, it was definitely a scam. The people at Barclays were really helpful and confirmed it for me.
