Got bombarded with marketing calls after our letting agency used this company for credit checks on our rental. They somehow grabbed our number without asking and started pushing insurance products. When I told the woman I’d answered my partner’s phone, she just cut me off. Then when he rang back, she was still trying to sell insurance. I tried calling a few times to find out why they took our info without consent, but every time they picked up, they just hung up on me. I’m definitely going to raise this with our letting agent.

Homelet rang me about some insurance for tenants after doing a credit check on me. They really ought to leave a voicemail saying who they are and why they're calling, but a few of their people just don't seem to bother. If they don't, try ringing them back with 141 before the number so your number stays private, and tell them to leave a message next time! Not sure if I'll actually go for their insurance though.
