I keep getting calls like this often. I’m pretty sure it’s cold calling. It’s really annoying since I’ve had loads of calls from different numbers and companies lately. I reckon they got my details from my insurance because I told them about someone hitting my car in the car park. We sorted it without going through insurance, but I let them know just in case. Honestly, if you’re fed up with these calls, maybe don’t hand over your phone number so easily. Every call you get has to be allowed by law. If you’ve got calls like that, it’s probably because you filled out a form, a survey, requested a quote, or something similar. You’ve either actively agreed or missed a box somewhere that lets them share your details for marketing. And about the people making these calls not being clever or well spoken - maybe the real issue is folks not bothering to read the fine print when they give away their info.

Got a call from a woman with a Scouse accent, sounded a bit clueless and she kept asking how I was after an accident two years ago. Thing is, I’ve never been in an accident. Then she just ended the call. When I tried ringing back, there was an automated message saying the number’s not active.
