I got a call supposedly from HMRC claiming I was involved in a fraud investigation. They warned that if I didn’t press 1 to connect straight away, they’d issue an arrest warrant. The tone was really harsh and pushy. This same call has come through to me twice now. Since I’m on a salary and always pay my taxes properly, I knew it was a load of nonsense, but the threatening manner still left me feeling quite shaken. I really hope these scammers get caught and receive the punishment they deserve.
